Could be. Probably not "necessary." More likely a hobby. And also if God forbid we ever have another revolution.

Remember - Trump is literally Hitler so it makes sense to stock up, right?

    That's right.

And Dems have done an amazing job of over-dramatizing literally everything and having the press on their side in order to gain public support. I often see Republicans shamelessly making compromises, but rarely the other way around

Trump is Caligula's horse. No need to stock up.

Trump is literally Hitler who is a puppet of Putin, but let's give him unlimited spying power!

I remember when Obama promised to kill the Patriot Act. That was fun

"I will provide our intelligence and law enforcement agencies with the tools they need to track and take out the terrorists without undermining our Constitution and our freedom. That means no more illegal wiretapping of American citizens. No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime. No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest a misguided war. No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient."

    It's a start, anyway.

I don't know about that. The assault weapon ban lasted what, a decade?

Actually I’ve read MULTIPLE times on this board a revolution is coming so there’s that.

I am curious to see how the revolution will stack up against the $700 billion-plus defense budget we have going.

UNLESS OF COURSE THE DEEP STATE TAKES OVER THE MILITARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how to make sense of the state-by-state article... I think the map I posted several pages ago essentially says the same thing, and there is simply no correlation.

Meanwhile, the Vox article was predictable. The money chart though, was this one:

One edit here - the data appears to be from a "victim survey"... which I attribute less weight to

Well the point was more to the effect of since I am very skeptical any action will actually be done, security at the schools needs to be tighter.

Sometimes, school shootings are done by former students or people not affiliated with the school. And sometimes they're done by current students. Seems like most of the time, they arrive at school after the school day has started (you know, once they've gotten their false-flag op instructions from the government). I would imagine detection devices and SROs (ones that don't hide in the parking lot) could help snuff a lot of that out.

And did you look at the ones below that one that add further context? Point is we can both sit here and post charts all day and poke holes. Anything you post is just as "predictable."

How many schools are in this country? 10,000? And how many get shot up in a given year? 3-5?

Is the suggestion to turn our schools into airports? Does anyone like what has happened to our airports?

What I generally post is numbers that show that the more guns there are, the less violent crime there is. Context is needed, and I don't have all the variables. But my assertion is that more guns =/= more crime. And I think the data supports that

    Can you prove that wrong?

If you're concerned about an "existing student" doing something, detection devices is a suggestion.

I can't say I have the appetite for turning schools into airport security lines. I also don't have the appetite for putting more guns in schools. And I find it a little odd you're implying metal detectors are a crazy idea but haven't voiced much of an issue with this idea that we're going to train and arm 20 percent of the nation's teachers.

I don't want to train and arm 20% of teachers.

I want to allow trained teachers the freedom to carry their weapon on premises

    Can you prove it right?

The chart right below what you call the money chart speaks volumes.

But I thought more guns in the hands of good guys was the answer.

Why do you want to trivialize this discussion with comments like this.

Now I am forced to address the dumb question. No, I don't want my fiance or some 80 year old teach who's never touched a gun having one.

I want my best friend who goes to the range three times a month having one.

And I want any potential mass shooter to know there is a possibility they get shot by a teacher and the embarrassment that will yield

No it doesn't. We already know there are more gun related incidents in this country than in others... because we have substantially more guns in this country. This isn't new data or even particularly helpful data.

My argument is that more guns in this country has yielded less homicides and violent crime. Now... you want to go change the law, so go prove me wrong.
