    Interesting infield decisions so far: four corner guys (two each at 1B and 3B, though obviously Jenitsa profiles as a potential RF as well), but only two MIF (one each at SS and 2B), and no catchers.

    Just drafted a catcher who plays at Oregon and hit .225. I believe that's my hint to stop paying attention to the draft.

    K = 26.47%
    Bb = 2.35%

    Brutal. He must be a good receiver.

    Have to grab a few to catch all the pitchers.

    Why in the heck would the A's pay their first rounder 5 million and still let him play a season of football...seems really dangerous.

    Some interesting third day picks. I imagine Hess is a throw-away ala the Rockies pick of Kumar Rocker. I perused a few stat pages and the guys I found most interesting are #20 C.J. Alexander and #38 Franco Aleman. Alexander is a JC guy and Aleman is a high school pitcher who has only been in the United States for six years after his family left Cuba.

    Or...most of the teams have good offenses in the Big 12 as opposerd to like “two” teams in most divisions. OU-GA game played exactly like a Big 12 game....wonder why??

    GA’s SEC “D” sure looked like a Big 12 “D” that night.

    Alexander is the guy I’d love to sign. I’d guess he probably heads to UCF unless we have more money than expected.

    Certainly not likely to help negotiations with Stewart.
    Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

    Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

    I think this was a case of the A’s REALLY wanting him. He had said all along he was playing football this season and I think he wanted to play two years. This was them giving him incentive to only play one year.

    I wouldn’t do that, but they must really think he is a future star.

    From what I’ve read, Aleman is essentially in the Hess category.

    One thing I’ll never quite understand is when a pitcher prices himself out of the first two rounds. Man, take your million plus dollars and run before a college coach gets the chance to break your entire pitching arm.

    Agreed. The system is broken with bonus pools. It makes players gamble to get certain amounts. I like the NFL system. It’s rare that a player doesn’t sign.

    Most college coaches aren't Mike Martin. There are plenty who put their pitchers' long term needs ahead of short term victories.
