Fried, Gohara, Wisler, and Sims still give AA the liberty to keep him down.
Things will become interesting next spring - Folty, Newk, Soroka, Gohara, Anibal as the old guy, Fried, Allard, Wright, Weigel (potentially), and Julio/another vet will be something to watch. Going to be really interesting to see whether AA can get enough of a return for Julio to get away with trading him this winter.

assuming he is recalled on July 24th...he will have spent 39 days while optioned to AAA...plus he was on the inactive list for 2 days after overstaying his visit to his mother...
the answer appears to be yes we have gained that extra year of control

Makes you wonder if they're not considering pulling the plug on Soroka as well. Saw mention that we've had scouts at Eovaldi's last couple of starts - if you could get him cheaply enough as a rental, you could slow down Mike's clock as well and have him reset everything with an eye toward 2019.
