Newly acquired Nationals relief pitcher Roenis Elias hurt himself running to first after the manager told him not to swing in multiple languages.

Phillies lose in 15, wacky game. They ended up having to use a position player to pitch, and a pitcher in the outfield.

The same pitcher Ross on the Nats who we bombed only gave up 1 hit vs DBacks. Go figure.

AZ up 10-4, Stras got shelled. He was due for a bad outing. He's been unhittable for awhile.

I can’t believe Gattis never found a team this year.

Want an example of why it's foolish for a rebuilding team to hang onto a controllable pitcher simply because "they don't have to trade him yet"?

    https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/...el-fulmer.html

The Tigers could have gotten Baez or Bregman for Fulmer, but instead foolishly decided to hold onto him because he had a lot of control and they "didn't need to trade him right now".

Well, now he is recovering from TJ and has essentially zero trade value. A pitcher's value is now, so if a team isn't trying to win now they need to cash them in now. Period.

Nice work Detroit. Enjoy being crappy for a long time.

Coppy did this with JT. He would be easily replaceable right now and the return would have been pretty good three/four years ago.

And Julio right now is probably the best case scenario that could have happened based on his declining stuff at the time the rebuild started.

While it's only a beat writer, this guy proposed Bellinger or Verdugo to the Braves in exchange for JT.

MLBTR seems to think we could have gotten a major league player plus multiple Top 100 prospects.

Article about the Astros making pitchers better:

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-astr...tchers-career/

    Quote from Cole:

"my curveball's my best pitch for me, which took six years for someone to finally tell me".

    Mind...blown...

These are very simple analytics I do in 10 minutes every time a new pitcher joins the Braves roster...and the Pirates didn't think to figure this out? Cole was just out there literally throwing things at the wall trying to see what stuck?

Are we sure Fried even knows his FA is flat?

The next time someone tells me an MLB team knows more than me because "they get paid to do this", I hope someone clubs them over the head with articles like this one.
