    Guess not.

And yes, odd to fire a guy for going all in as directed by the owner.
Sorry I actually misspoke, they have 80 million less committed for next year. Even if you account for arby raises, they still have plenty of money to make upgrades while staying under their current luxury tax levels.

How much fun are Red Sox fans having staring at that flag while their team has no chance for the playoffs?

    Do they even have testosterone?
The flags fly forever was pretty dumb.

However, I'd say their fans are plenty happy about winning a WS last year. It isn't like they went from WS champs to bottom dwellers.

Bochy is the gold standard. Easily the best manager. In particular, a master at managing a bullpen.

Looked like the cubs would run away with that 2nd WC for awhile but thata no longer the case. Currently tied with the Brewers with the mets and phillies 2 games back. Hopefully it's a wild two weeks.

Curious to see what happens in Chicago if the Cubs don't make the playoffs.

All things considered, I'd rather the Brew Crew take the 2nd WC at this point since they seem like the easiest team to beat among those remaining. Also, I just can't root for NY or Philly.

That makes it easier for the Nats. But the Nats also have a decent shot at beating the Dodgers.

He's the guy I wanted in the Ian Anderson draft, and it's a shame we won't know what would have been minus the freak knee injury. Hopefully he recovers and has a good career.

I'm not worried about the Nats in the slightest. We have beaten the Nats all season and just took 3 of 4 while they set their rotation so that we saw their 3 aces. Their BP is trash as well.

All our wins for the most part are by 1-2 runs, it's not like we're beating the crap out of them. The games are close.

1 run, 6 runs, 3 runs, 1 run, 2 runs, 1 run, 1 run, 4 runs, 1 run, out of the 9 wins, only 2-3 have been well in hand. The others were essentially coin flips. Dont get it twisted, a Braves/Nats series would be far from easy if it happened with that rotation.

I still think the best thing for us is for the Nats and Mets to play in the 1 game wild card game. Either team, with their pitching, is the most likely to knock off the Dodgers. The Nats have the best shot, imo, but if somehow the Nats lose the wild card game, the Mets are the next best team to beat the Dodgers.

Rather face the Dodgers than the Nats. Yes - Dodgers are tougher, but screw the Nats and their Gilesfan fan base.

I agree. Braves fans (if they are rational) should be rooting for the gnats and the Metropolitans.
