The Marlins feel they screwed up and didn’t get enough for the players they traded last year so one or two players won’t do it for them on their last trade piece. It all comes down to how much AA wants him bc he has the ammo to beat the Yanks and Mets.

Dont think it would be 1/1 and some prospects would be involved but thats an interesting trade package.

Signing a FA catcher plus Thor makes way more sense than trading away Thor but what do i know.
I agree. Trading Thor for a catcher is beyond stupid imo. They could keep Thor and just sign Grandal.

Unless they can come away with Andujar and JT, without giving up much else. They'd be improving their lineup considerably at that point and could always sign a cheaper pitcher like Happ to help replace Thor's production.

3 team trades are very hard to pull off. Also, I don't recall hearing about 3 team trades before it happened in years past.

    I think this is a no-go.

The Yanks won’t be giving up Andujar unless they are getting Thor and if it’s a 3 way Andujar will be going to the Marlins.

I'd love bellinger! I have no idea on who the Dodgers would want from us though.

Not necessarily. Andujar is nowhere close enough to get Thor on his own. Yanks would have to kick in Frazier and more. Mets could flip Frazier, the extra parts from the Yanks, and a prospect or 2 of their own for JT.

How about something bigger like: Folty, Inciarte, Teheran (Braves might have to include a little more) for Bellinger & Pedersen? (Only works if Dodgers sign Harper)

Braves then trade Camargo, Wilson and Allard to SF for Bumgarner and Posey (I know Posey is hurt but am willing to take a chance)

Braves trade Wright, Pache and Wentz to the Indians for Kluber

Rotation is: Kluber, Bumgarner, Gausman, Newcomb, Soroka/Touki/Gohara

    CF Acuna
    2B Albies
    1B Freeman
    3B Donaldson
    RF Bellinger
    LF Pedersen
C Posey/McCann/Flowers (1 will be on DL at any time)
    SS Swanson

Bench: Culberson, McCann/Posey/Flowers, Duvall, Util, Util

Just to attach some expected surplus value numbers to the principals in this 3-way proposition

Andujar 9 WAR expected surplus value

    Thor 7 WAR

    JT 6 WAR

Bowman came out and squashed the Folty rumors, but I could definitely see him as a trade high candidate if we acquire a front line starter.

I really don’t see us trading Folty. To me, he is a corner stone of this re-build.

I'm not buying the breakout and all reports are he's a bit of an arsehole. The arbitration situation last yer did not help that perception. AA has stressed team chemistry more than I've heard in years past from a GM.

If we acquired a front line starter for prospects and could trade Folty for a corner OF I'd be fine with that.

AA on cam right now. Says they are not trading an outfielder or a starter. Not close on anything. Running into issues with free agents in terms of years and AAV. Said a bulk of the rumors in regards to the braves are not true.

Will probably stand pat until January...

The line about standing pat until January lines up with what FAs are asking for right now. If the market turns like last year there should be quality players available for good value at that time. Won't believe anything regarding trades from GM's though.

Or if we take him literally they are open to trading an infielder, a catcher or a relief pitcher off the major league roster. I suspect Fried would fall in the category relief pitcher in terms of what AA is talking about.

I think Fried could be the most significant part of a trade that netted us an outfielder such as Pederson, Kepler, or Ian Happ.

Interesting to see that Brandon Belt is attracting attention. He can play outfield. And presumably the Giants might be willing to eat part of his contract to enhance the return.

I suspect the fourth year is something Cutch and Brantley are holding out for at the moment. They might drop it come January.

AA did have some interesting comments on JTR. Said that we are happy with where we are at catcher right now (where have we heard this before?) Said if the value is there to upgrade, we would. But it would have to make sense in terms of prospects given up and salary cost.

Biggest concern is our position player prospect depth.
