Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
I'd pursue Yelich heavy but leave Archer alone. Move Nick to LF and play Yelich in right. Do anything to get rid of Kemp.

I would be so down for Yelich. I have always loved his game.
Yelich is a piece that could rapidly accelerate the rebuild. If we get some growth from Dansby and Albies and can hit on a young pitcher or two, all of sudden we have a window opening in 2019. Even the 2018 season is much more interesting with Yelich manning an outfield spot.
Guaranteed, if it ever happened, somebody would would post a rant on what was given up to get Yelich.

You guys are on it.
Headley is exactly what the Braves should have been looking to acquire if the goal was to get a 1 year guy without giving up prospects.
SD may trade him again, so he might still be an option.
However, AA seems to contradict himself every other sentence. In this case, if the Braves really wanted a 1 year guy at 3B they would have Headley...actions speak louder than words.
On my phone, so no link, but DOB just tweeted that the Braves are likely interested in Headley.
Slashing payroll to buy Yelich from the Marlins is a solid move if that's what's going on.
As Russ pointed out, there are many scenarios involving Chen, Prado, Tazawa, and Volquez that could lower the price on Yelich enough that it doesn't impact the farm too much. The Braves are so bad at so many positions that they could find playing time for all those guys, which can't be said for many other teams looking to acquire Yelich. If the Marlins truly are lowering payroll to $55M, dumping all those guys on the Braves might be extremely attractive.
