    Top 10 Atlanta Braves

I came up with 9 pretty easily. Aaron, Niekro, Murphy, Glavine, Smoltz, Maddox, CJones, A Jones and Freeman. The 10th one, however.....maybe J Lopez or Hudson. What say you? Let’s say they have to have played at least 5 years for Atlanta. Who ya got?

I’d put Frank Wren above Freeman, Lopez, or Hudson.

McCann would definitely be ahead of Javy. Furcal is in the mix, too. Horner, Justice, or Kimbrel might get a look. In terms of just the Atlanta portion of their career, I would go:

    1. Chipper
    2. Maddux
    3. Niekro
    4. Aaron
    5. Murphy
    6. Glavine
    7. Smoltz
    8. Andruw
    9. Freeman
    10. McCann
"Acuna is getting lucky, just like CJ did when he batted .321 and won a batting title. He is unlikely to get lucky at the MLB level over an extended period of time. He will settle in around .300-.320 just like everyone else, and when he does, he won't be within shouting distance of the 1.000 OPS he is posting in AAA...more like low .700s in 2018." -Enscheff 8/25/17

Javy Lopez, Brian McCann, David Justice, Ron Gant, Ryan Klesko, Rafael Furcal, Jeff Blauser would seem to be the list tp choose from about 1980 forward.

Lopez or Justice from that list?

Is this Atlanta Braves only? If it's the entire Braves' history, Aaron has to be at the top.

    I assumed Atlanta only.

Warren Spahn is a notable omission if not.

Eddie Mathews and Warren Spahn would almost HAVE to be on that list. I'd probably kick Murphy for those two to fit on the bill.

Call me old and sentimental, but I'd take the two time MVP and face of the franchise over Andruw if you made me choose.

I'm surprised at the omission of one Ronald Acuna on this list. Blasphemy.

Atlanta Braves. Mathews was only here that first year. I got to see him play!

McCann and Huddy have to be considered

The hype around Frenchy and Heyward was considerable.

If you're doing Atlanta Braves you have Maddux, Smoltz, Niekro, Glavine, Chipper, Andruw, Aaron, Murph, Freeman then debate between McCann and Hudson. Though if he wasn't traded away, Millwood would have eclipsed both of them. So you could argue Millwood.

I'm not sure Millwood would've eclipsed Hudson, or McCann for that matter considering how many postseason accolades he garnered and how he was sort of the face of the team in the early 2010's.

    Are you going by WAR?

Biff Pocoroba, Jerry Royster, Andy Messersmith, Otis Nixon (and an 8-Ball).
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
