Incredible pull by AA. I would have given up any 2 of those guys for Hamels, Odorizzi, Gio types of rentals. The fact that he got a solid pitcher with control is amazing.

My feelings too. Forgot O'Day was done for the year.
Not concerned over any of the prospects given away. They are all 2+ years away (aside from Phillips who isn't a prospect) and have lots of questions.

Basically, out goes some crap, organization filler...not completely useless pieces but not much value. Got back some bargain pieces that provide very specific value, the best 3 of whom will also be able to help us out next year and beyond.
Pretty good work, and about what I wanted to see. Didn't want to give up anything of real consequence but did want to try to add some pieces in case we're able to sustain this playoff run. Well done, AA.

The only downside of this deal is having O'Day take up 9 million of payroll next year. But we have plenty of flexibility next year and not a ton of spots of obvious need. Taking that contract is what allowed us to get Gausman cheap so I'm cool with it.

With all due respect to the players we traded away, AA managed to turn chichen scheisse into chicken salad. That's a pretty nifty trick.
