I can't think of anything either...
However, I couldn't tell you exactly what Bochy or Maddon do well either.
I do know that I don't remember a bad word about Fredi from any of the players or coaches he has worked with. I also can't remember any anonymous sources ripping him.
I also know that a few days ago a large number of posters here were sure that Teheran is hurt, Fredi is just too blind to see it and needs to be fired asap.

Last I checked Julio just pitched 6 shutout innings against the Reds.

But I don't think anyone we'll start a thread about Fredi's awesome assessment of Julio's condition, which in turn gave us a victory today.

Does Fredi get credit for today's win? Or is it just the players? When it's the other way around, Fredi gets all the blame, right?

Who are you desperate for validation from? If Cox were in charge, would we have clinched the division this weekend?

Can you defend him for bringing in a pitcher with 2 outs in the 9th with a 1 run lead?

No, but we would have made the playoffs last year.

And I find it amazing that despite having the "worst Manager in the game" and possessing the "worst offense in baseball" this team continues to win games - especially since player performance and morale is totally dependent on such an imbecile.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Better fire Salazar - he went to Peterson for one out yesterday.

Just another example in a long line of bullpen abuse.

    Absolutely. Except...

From 1987 until the end of his career Eckersley averaged 59.6 appearances per season (12 seasons with a large number of multi-inning appearances).

Should LaRussa or his other Managers have been fired?

Go back and take a look at Lee Smith's numbers. Rivera's numbers. And on and on. Bitch all you want folks, Fredi doesn't ride anybody any harder than the rest of the Managers in history have.

Should fire him for running Teheran out there today with that "injured knee", right?

His last couple of starts had nothing to do with the number of fastballs he was throwing or their location at all.

Not a chance...Those guys were slipping in May. Even though it didn't show until August because of that April.

That's why we are at the top of the list of TJ's right? Because Freddi doesn't abuse his pitchers. I'm not sure what world you think it's needed to bring in a releiver with 2 outs in the 9th with a 5 run lead and 1 runner on base.

Bullcrap, it isn't just the games he pitches them. He broke a lot of pitchers warming them up 20 straight games including those they didn't pitch. Fredi is the worst and most brutal I've ever seen in that regard and has a long list of injured relievers for his track record to prove it.

Anyone that defends this crap I cannot take seriously. If they cannot see it by now no use arguing with them.

All I see is 9 pages of the same as usual, neither side is changing their view. And all the Fredi defenders want to do really is to shut up those that want him fired. It ain't happening, at least not till he's gone.

Still not one thing listed that he does well.

I'm not asking my manger to give us an advantage... I'm asking my manager NOT to give us a disadvantage. Fredi is horrible

Yea, I think arguing that "he's not the reason this team isn't winning" is well beside the point—and, moreover, hardly the ringing endorsement that would inure Fredi against criticism.
"For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal."

Okay, I'll bite, though it's clear you know even less about baseball than you do about politics.

    1. Like BC, his mentor, Fredi doesn't call out his players in the press. He doesn't use the press to try and motivate or shame. I'll bet that if/when he has harsh words he does it behind closed doors.

    2. He's the first one in the clubhouse every morning and always the last one to leave.

    3. He always remembers birthdays and kid's names.

    4. He keeps a good, positive relationship with the press.

    5. He doesn't get too high after wins or too low after losses.

    6. He practices good motorcycle safety.

    7. Unlike some of the nuts in this thread, he doesn’t make everything about him.

    8. He's kind to bat boys and people in the service industry. (He's an above average tipper.)

    9. He ALWAYS has his jersey tucked in.

    10. He doesn't panic with starting pitchers and let's them try and work out of trouble themselves.

    11. You don't read stories about him singing karaoke down at the strip club.

    12. When it comes to handling the pitching staff, he does pretty much whatever Roger says.

    13. He realizes that his job is really 90% political and social and only 10% baseball strategy. Thus, he DOES NOT call out his GM in the press, no matter what a douche he may be.

    14. He does whatever his GM asks of him.

    15. He doesn't go on blogs and pretend to be an expert on subjects he knows nothing about.

    16. He gives young guys plenty of reps but doesn't leave them in so long that they assume they are now the starter, so they aren't suddenly surprised when they find themselves out of the lineup.

    17. He uses his vets to show the rookies the way.

    18. He's not afraid to call for a 'hit and run'.

    19. He doesn't overuse his bullpen as bad as before.

    20. He talks to Bobby Cox regularly.
