It would definitely be put one of the resort tourist areas where there's better security if they did go that option. What about Vancouver? Or would that be too close to Mariners.

I think the Braves will fight hard to reject Charlotte, Memphis or NOLA if that was even considered.
Memphis? They have no chance to get an MLB team.

Could they expand BB&T Ballpark? For my money, that is one of the top 5 stadium locations in all of baseball.

Other American cities that could support a team are Orlando, San Antonio, Vegas, and Portland.

However, I think the powers that be are not that interested in domestic expansion outside of Las Vegas. Vegas is just a unique opportunity from a branding standpoint, and the fundamentals (population, wealth, etc) are just as good as Cincinnati or Kansas City, and only getting better, as Vegas continues to experience relatively tremendous growth.

Will be very interesting to see if MLB decides to go with Vegas or Mexico City.
The Charlotte stadium does have room to expand to a MLB stadium if im not mistaken

Expansion would be such a terrible idea.

Montreal definitely. Mexico City isn't happening any time soon. I also think Vegas is just a matter of time, the city will eagerly fund a new stadium.

Charlotte would represent a challenge to my Braves allegiances. I still personally feel like the whole SunTrust move/abandonment of downtown Atlanta by the Braves was actualized in such poor taste and, frankly, the new ballpark doesn't remotely come close to making up for it. That's to say nothing of the on-field product, which hasn't been relevant or exciting in years.

Would love a Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham area team.

And to mine too since I live here. It didn't take much to change from a Falcons fan to a Panthers fan...

How about Salt Lake City instead of Vegas? Vegas is already in Dodger/Angels/Dbacks territory. Salt Lake or PDX would be my choice, tho I'd reinstate Montreal first.

I think Salt Lake City is too small. There are 400,000 fewer people there than in MLB's least populous metro, Milwaukee.

Vegas is nearly double the size of Salt Lake City, and it's a tourist magnet and icon of the United States and world. I think the Golden Knights and Raiders will be very successful.

Can you imagine a baseball stadium with The Strip in the outfield background? Man, that would rival SF, Pittsburgh, and San Diego, IMO.

I agree that a stadium on the strip would be amazing, can't argue with that at all.

A city worthy and not in a position to cut into another market is San Antonio. Fair being fair, Honolulu would be a worthy city, but we all know why that's a non-starter.

Me, I'd like to see a team return to Brooklyn.

A few days ago, Heyman had an article stating his sources are saying MLB has its sights set on Mexico for expansion.

I would find Mexico City to be a problem with the elevation at 2000 feet higher than Colorado. That would be brutal for teams to play in.

Not to mention the air quality issues.

I know MLB wants to globalize the game but is Mexico even safe?

Would a domed stadium alleviate the elevation and air quality concerns?

Given the terrible attendance problems that both Tampa and Miami have had I'm not sure how MLB could put yet another team in Florida. Talk about justification for the big markets to bitch about profit sharing...sheesh!!!
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

I don't understand switching of allegiances. Even if they built the ballpark on my property. Loyalty hard to come by these days, I guess.

Agreed. I was born with this team, and I will die with this team.
