Dale Murphy would have been a good looking guy except for the enormous carbuncle on his cheek...Rick Mahler was a chubby guy with bad hair. Even when they got it going, they were some ugly dudes. Otis "Penitentiary Face" Nixon. Maddux is the only HOF pitcher who looks like a child molester. Blauser could have split his chin with Z Smith and that would have worked well.

We had some ugly teams. Good thing ball players make good money, they wouldn't have gotten laid at all.
I've always maintained that the 80s Braves were the plug-ugliest bunch of warthogs who ever laced them up.

How many other Braves have done this?

I don't get the Reitsma hate. He wasn't the greatest reliever ever but I don't understand the hate. He seemed like a nice enough guy.

He sucked for us. That's about all there is to it.

A lot of relievers have sucked for us. The focus on Reitsma seems odd.

Reitsma's struggles always seemed odd. He had a good fastball and one of the nastiest changeups you'll see. Just never seemed to have it between the ears. Maybe that's why people took such a disliking to him.

I think that's it. I mean the guys a good guy but I had zero confidence when he came into the game to preserve a close lead cause it seemed things could snowball so quickly.

We've had worse relievers no doubt that sucked, and reitsmas numbers his first two years here weren't terrible by any means, but I remember numerous times when Smoltz or someone else had to bail him out.

The guy had good stuff, it just didn't materialize into the results it should have. Steve Karsay was another similiar guy although his stint was too short lived here to be mentioned.

You kinda got excited at first about the stuff but disappointed at the end results.
