    And there is this:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/20/u...gtype=Homepage

President Trump on Sunday night called for an investigation into financial ties between China and the family of former Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., the current front-runner in a crowded Democratic 2020 field, and the candidate Mr. Trump’s advisers believe could pose the biggest potential threat to his re-election.

“100 percent — it’s a disgrace,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with Steve Hilton, a Fox News host, when asked if the Biden family’s supposed financial ties with China should be investigated. “And then he says China’s not a competitor of ours,” he added. “China is a massive competitor of ours. They want to take over the world.”

The accusation of financial ties was made by the conservative author Peter Schweizer, who claimed that Mr. Biden’s younger son, Hunter, made millions from the Chinese government at a time when his father was negotiating with Chinese officials over government issues. Mr. Schweizer was also the author of “Clinton Cash,” which looked at donations to the Clinton Foundation made by foreign entities, and was released early in the 2016 campaign cycle and bankrolled in part by the family of Robert Mercer, the wealthy conservative donor.

How many wars has China been in the last 20 years? How many countries do they occupy?

Still minor compared to us. Wouldn't be surprised if they take Taiwan if we get into a war with Iran.

A federal judge on Monday denied President Trump’s bid to quash a House subpoena for years of his financial records from his accounting firm and stayed his order seven days to allow the president’s lawyers time to appeal.

The ruling handed an initial defeat to Trump’s vow to defy subpoenas by House Democrats and came in one of the first courtroom challenges to a series of lawmakers’ investigative demands for his bank records, accounting statements and tax returns.

would have been shocked if this decision went the other way

case in NY regarding bank records from Deutsche is likely to be decided in the same way

Oh no...i feel so terrible being called repulsive by a person who isnt fpr any restrictions on abortion.

These young men are put into the most stressful of situations and dont give any leniency when they make mistakes. Its ****ing pathetic that entitled pricks like you would, without any supporting circumstances, make the claim that these men shouldnt be considered for a reprieve.

to a person people in uniform were appalled.
Appalled because it happened (and reports are it happened every day) and appalled because the people that ordered it were not held accountable.

Most of the troops in Iraq saw limited combat compared with past military conflicts, although I don't diminish the psychological affects of daily IEDs. But to blame Abu G on battle fatigue is laughable. The siege of Baghdad lasted less than a month and was mostly carried out by guys sitting in front of computer screens.

For these cases to even make it to criminal prosecution is very unusual. Usually these things get buried or never make it beyond an administrative paper shuffle. For them to make it this far speaks of the serious nature of the alleged crimes. In Gallagher’s case, his colleagues risked their careers by persisting in their complaints, because they thought the guy was a psycho.

Do any of the alleged incidents that have come up in this context fit that description?

I have absolutely no clue but ive been friends with enough middle east war vets to know its not unrealistic to think it could have played a role.

Sure, but isn’t it a stretch to assume that it’s ok to pardon them because “it’s not unrealistic to think it could have played a role.” Like I said, these cases don’t tend to reach the criminal justice system unless they’re egregious.

What makes someone commit an egregiously heinous act? Its just all too easy to just blame the soldier when we have no clue what the reality is on how war enviornment damaged them.

I think anyone on a combat deployment is under a significant amount of stress. And yet, the overwhelming majority of them manage not to commit war crimes or murder civilians in cold blood.

I agree with this. Not sure how that shoulf be applied across 100% of the population.

I wonder how much of Iraqi war vets' PTSD comes from being forced to fight a dubious war on an innocent country and as a result be party to killing scores of innocent civilians. It's not unrealistic to believe that that plays a role too.
