Viz had been with us since 2010 and we went out and got him back from the Cubbies.

He was originally a Yanks farmhand. But we did call him up IIRC.

Of the Teheran, Delgado, Vizcaino prospect trinity of about a decade ago, we still have 2/3 and they’re both fairly major contributors to the big club.

The hardest player to figure out where to bat to me is Albies. After seeing that RHH Albies OBP I like to see Albies leadoff against lefties and Inciarte bat leadoff against righties. Then go Acuna, Freeman, Donaldson. But since Inciarte tends to start the season slow, and Acuna wants to leaoff, I'm just as happy having Acuna start the season in the leadoff slot and only switch it if OBPs indicate something else could work better.

Great post and I agree, just switch between those 2 and have the others set and they can move to the 5 spot or if a lefty have flowers, then six spot

    Left hand starter

    Albies
    Ronnie
    Freeman
    Donaldson
    Neck
    Flowers
    Inciarte
    Wonder Twin 1

    Right hand starter

    Incierte
    Ronnie
    Freddie
    Josh
    Neck
    Albies
    McCann
    Wonder Twin 1

That is just me, what do you all think?

agreed except i would flip Ronnie and Josh...it makes more sense to put someone who can steal bases in the 4 spot ahead of the lower part of the order

    Yup.

A platoon with Albies and Inciarte or Markakis in the leadoff spot (or anywhere in the top half of the order) is pretty clearly the correct answer until Albies figures things out a little as a LHH.

I’m honestly fine with Acuña leading off, just for the extra PA. I’d like to see Acuña-Donaldson-Whomever-Freeman as the top four, under that scenario.

I think that’s the real question. Why does Freeman have to bat 3rd?

Why not? He's no worse than the third best hitter. Slotting him behind the right hander makes sense also.
