I think Soroka showed 5 different pitches: 2 seamer, 4 seamer, change, curve and slider.

The 2 seamer looked legit with good fade and drop. The rest appeared to be average.

Obviously just an eye test though.

The two seamer is his pitch.

It wouldn’t be Braves baseball without a runner being thrown out at home by 10’.

Agreed. Newk still has no idea where the fastball was going.

Wright’s slider was nasty when it was down. His curve looked a little too much like a lollipop get over pitch.

It sucks we can’t see the velo on the fastball, but Wright’s certainly didn’t have anywhere near the movement of Soroka’s.

AJax Ks on a breaking ball that landed 5’ in front of the plate...vs a LHP.

Newk was all over the place. He looked exactly like he looked in all his poor outings.

There’s a difference between just missing like Ravin was, and throwing non competitive pitches like Newk was.

Just want to say thanks to those that are keeping up with the game and keeping those of us who are unlucky enough to not be able to see or hear the game.

It is just one inning early in spring training against scrubs, but I thought both Soroka and Wright showed very good stuff.
