We have too much pitching lol, like even if Julio is traded you have a top 5 of Gaus, Newk, Folty, Soroka, Touki and one spot for Gohara, Anderson, Wright it's sad and amazing at the same time.

Not even mentioning Wentz, Muller, Wilson, Allard, Wiegel, Ynoa, etc.

    It's absurd.

That’s why there will probably be a big trade this offseason.

I've been saying this and people get mad about it, there's just no way to keep them all.

It sucks to say it but we can’t. There just isn’t enough room for everybody and you can’t just keep em in AAA when they’re ready. I doubt Arenado gets traded but he’s the type we could target. Marte from Pittsburg would be a good OF target.

Even considering those stamina problems that Wright has had at times, he has a 3.59 ERA now this season across two levels. Very nice.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Not sure it makes sense to mention Allard, at this point, so you’re excused.

Arenado could very well be moved this offseason. There is probably about a <20% chance of him re-signing with Colorado. The Braves need to at least call and see if he is available. If he isn't, go 100% all in on a Realmuto trade. One of those two need to be in a Braves uni next year.

Looks to me like our solidified rotation for the future couple years barring injuries or trades obviously is Folty, Gausman, Newcomb, Touki, Wright (Soroka in there too if his shoulder isn't a huge problem)

I'm willing to bet that ends up being one heck of rotation after some typical youth bumpy moments.

I'm not sure you can really etch anything even in chalk. You also have Gohara, Wilson, Anderson, and Muller at AA or higher. It's easy to say, 'well, we're starting to figure out our rotation, so the others are more expendable,' but it's just not that simple, I don't think. Injuries will always be a factor, someone will regress or fail to develop, and you'll have to dig into your depth. I know you said 'barring injuries or trades,' but I'm not even sure it's worth speculating on that end. Touki could be a bullpen arm, Newcomb or Folty could drop off suddenly, Wright could fail to fully develop, etc. I want the pitching depth.

I'm ok trading Gohara while his value is still high, but I don't want to give up any of the others.

I think I was clear in mentioning the uncertainty with the whole "barring injuries or trades"... I've seen enough from Touki, if he stays healthy, he's not a bullpen arm... IMO he's our best SP prospect. I just see a structure of a rotation quite a bit more clearly than I have in a while. Wright/Soroka/Anderson/Muller/Wentz are probably all about equal in finding that last spot. But because of injuries, it will likely be some kind of combo of the ones not traded... the general outline is there to me though, IMO.

I don't think we have to figure out what the long term rotation is going to be this offseason. Keep who you think has more to prove and trade whoever you think has plateaud.

I think we should have 6 guys we count on to fill the 5th spot with the other 5 in AAA. So we could probably trade 2 of the guys listed below. The problem is most here would say Gohara and Allard. That makes us very Right handed and we probably wouldn't get as much for them.

Soroka, Gohara, Fried, Touki, Wright, Allard, Wilson, Weigel,

If Soroka is healthy, he has a no-doubt rotation spot. We have 4 rotation spots covered going into next year, it's the 5th that is up in the air between probably Touki, Gohara, and Wright as of right now. I do agree with you for the most part there.

It's just the 'for the next couple years' that I took some issue with, only because of the incredible uncertainty with pitching. There's just no way to project even that far out.
