Didn't they acquire Loup to be a situational lefty? They also have Morgan. Their bullpen had taken a hit lately.

It's good they keep getting people but it hasn't helped much lately. The Phillies have been scuffling... let's hope it continues!

Not sure the faillies are really a good team. A bunch of averagish players with Hoskin and Nola being the elite amongst them.

is hoskins elite? 2.5 fWAR, 0.6 bWAR.
he's a very good hitter, but playing him in LF makes him more "good" than elite, IMO. and it's not like he's a great defensive 1B.
he'll also presumably be in LF the next 2 years.
their pitching staff as a whole is very solid, tho. also, again, ridiculously healthy.

Thinking more offensively than anything else. I also meant he is the best of their averagish position players. And yes moving him to the OF for Santana was dumb.

I might be looking at left handed relievers that can get left handers out if I were AA.

    Still maybe one light.

    Left handed bat also.

The Phillies will likely continue to slide a bit. We have a very good chance to win the division.

This is the first time in a while where I’ve felt like we were unequivocally in the driver’s seat for the division. It’s ours for the taking right now.

Win these next five and we will be. Still too close right now to be making that kind of statement.

The road trip to play the Dback’s and Giants scares me to death. I wont be able to feel good about our chances until that’s over. Some how some way the team has to shake its dreadful play against the NL West. .500 on that road trip is a must.

The thing that is really amazing is that we have made substantial additions to our team to make a postseason run without mortgaging hardly any of our future. We still have all of our essential minor league pieces in place to develop or to use in acquiring further additions. It is a really great time to be a Braves fan.

There will be at least 2 more "sky is falling" melt downs on this board with regards to the entire team, and 3-4 more "player01 is garbage" rants to as icing on the overreaction cake before this season is over.

Yeah its like that for every team. Lose a few straight games and people start to act like its catastrophic. Its a 162 game season guys lol
