Moylan been move to the 60 days DL...
If the money is available, then it makes perfect sense to bring Donaldson in.
Moylan to 60 Day could be for Wright to be put on the 40 man
Lol I don’t care about Moylan!!
Per Brave's website, this is the Braves current 40 man roster. Ramirez and McCarthy are possible to come off the DL in September...with Moylan going on the 60 day DL today, we are at 39

Get off my lawn!
Donaldson did clear waivers so now they could potentially get the Jays to pick up some salary if they include a decent prospect.
True, but that didn’t have to happen today. If the move was designed to get McCarthy back on the roster, why didn’t the moves happen concurrently?
Clearing a spot for an acquisition did have to happen today.
There’s certainly smoke. Whether or not it leads to any fire is still up in the air.
This clip from Bowman in his article after the game last night is interesting....
But the Braves have not yet received the desired value from the essentially no-cost acquisition of Adam Duvall from the Reds. Duvall went 0-for-4 during Thursday's makeup game and has now hit just .105 (4-for-38) since joining Atlanta's roster. He was acquired to serve as a right-handed bat off the bench and an option in left field to shift Ronald Acuna Jr. to center when Ender Inciarte sits against left-handed starters.
Braves manager Brian Snitker wasn't ready to commit to a change immediately following Thursday's loss. But given Duvall has gone 2-for-19 against lefties and Inciarte has recorded five hits in 14 at-bats against southpaws this month, there's at least reason to contemplate ending this platoon or possibly acquiring another right-handed bat before Friday's waiver trade deadline.

The only thing sillier than paying extra for a role player because he’s under team control for multiple years is to give up on that role player after 19 PAs in the role he was acquired to fill.
If Duvall was good enough to be a long term answer as a role player 19 PAs ago, he is still good enough to play that role.

Josh would be fantastic. Hed be a difference maker

Donaldson has been scratched from his minor league game... not health related. Steve Phillips saying the Blue Jays are in talks with Atlanta, Yankees, Cards, and Phillies.... although the Cards came out and said they don't anticipate making a move before the deadline... things are getting interesting. I'm skeptical JD will do much at all this year, but what if he can come back? That's a monster boost.
