    Simmons finalist for GG

Along with Tulo, and Ian Desmond.

In other news, the sky is usually blue and women like expensive things.

Heyward, Parra, and Jay bruce for RF.

If Simmons doesn'y win then the GG award is completely pointless. Heyward may not have played enough in RF if that is even a consideration.

Simmons may not win because his OBP wasn't high enough.

Didn't Palmeiro (sp?) win it at 1B one year despite playing less than 100 games there?

For the first time a sabermetric defensive index will count as part of the vote, with 25% weight.

    Ian Desmond? For real?

Cozart is a better defender, but I don't expect the voters to know that.

And I hope Heyward wins it cause I'm a Braves fan, but with his missed time, Parra should.

That's good to know. The gold glove voting is known for being quite atrocious. This is one award that I think sabermetrics should count for 100% of the vote, even though I don't know that defensive stats are extremely accurate. It's just the voting for the award has been awful at times.
    thank you weso1!
