Three and 2/3 scoreless innings for Folty.

Didn't look crisp, but a promising outting.

Good stuff, Folty. I'd love to see him grab the last rotation spot and prove himself. I'm a huge fan.

His line was pretty impressive. 5 Ks, 1 BB, 2 H, 3 IP.

Folty is one of the highest ceiling arms we have. When he's on he can be overpowering.

got to avoid the long ball. The walk and the long ball, but especially the long ball.

I think one of the goals of this year should be that by the end the team knows if Folty is a long term piece or not. And if he is a long term piece if he's a starter or a high leverage bp arm.

Banuelos is awful. Seen nothing good from him since he came over.

My guy was Banuelos, but he appears to be a serial arsonist.

When he throws 86, no bueno.

I did, his first few starts. Then the bone chip. Now he's either not ready or done. Hope he goes out and builds arm strength. If he sits at 90 he's a ML starter.

I'd love to be wrong about him. He's just struck me as a rockhead. One start he's shutting out Houston and the next it's walk, walk, homer against Philly.

you have to give Folty time.. if he can pitch like today on a consistent basis, he is one of the best arms in the game. ManBan needs more time.. wouldn't be surprised if they DL him to start the season.

Considering what they gave up to get Ban, he's more than a worthwhile gamble. He ain't right, though.

Listed at 6-9, 280. They must be planning on pushing him aggressively. You don't often see a guy who has only pitched in rookie ball get near a big league exhibition game. Supposedly throws in the mid-90s.

I'm still not giving up. I know it's in there. Hopefully we're the ones who wait on him. I mean, what else do we have to do?

Lefty reliever is a big need and college relievers like him can get to the majors in a hurry. I do expect them to be super aggressive with him.

It would make no sense to give up on him at this point. We have the time to be patient. However I'm becoming less and less optimistic. At this point I'll be surprised if he becomes more than a left reliever. Some guys have TJ surgery and just are never the same guy.

Who was our Texas college LHP... High draft choice but had TJ from last year? Should be ready rock soon id think? Haven't even included him in or itching depth discussions

Never mind.... Found it. Minter was his name. Talk about a candidate to move quickly id think

A.J. Minter. Haven't read or heard an update on him. Should be ready to pitch at some point in 2016.

I want our starting prospects to be all given opportunities to develop as starters. But Folty especially, for the reason you mentioned. Even if he pitches well the next few spring training games, I would send him down to AAA to continue strengthening his arm and working on his pitches. At this point Williams Perez makes the most sense as fifth starter.
