What if Coppy is dumping cash, because he knows he is about to take some more payroll on?

Twins beat writer just said we are sending a little less than half his salary. So conflicting reports make it hard to guess what we get.

If they're only paying some of his remaining money, then we'll get more in the deal, not less. Usually the buying team takes on all remaining salary.

Highly doubt any of Gonsalves, Kirilloff or Romero are coming our way. Tyler Jay and Kohl Stewart seem like busts at this point, but may that lottery ticket type return many have asked for in a Garcia deal. I do have interest in us acquiring any of Blankenhorn, Wander Javier and Lewis Thorpe.

Which is why they should just pay all of it.

I think I enjoy the trades more than I do the actual baseball games these days. I would be fine if we just simulated the rest of the season.

Garcia doesn't have much value. We paid way more than we should have to get him and we didn't give up that much. The return would be unimpressive if we picked up every dime. If the twins pay his remaining salary then it'll be even less.

Garcia was never a very bright move.

Blankenhorn would be ok. But he does seem to be kind of a Rio Ruiz clone. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Mitch Garver would be pretty interesting as well. Old for a prospect, but it's hard to ignore the production. And who knows, may be he could become our next Matt Diaz if his receiving skills aren't that great.

I fully expect a pitcher though.

    One possible explanation, I guess.

Yeah, but that would be the outlier. So paying some of his remaining salary is a good move. Paying all would have helped us, but that's something you have to convince the other team to do. It's not a given you can just force that on a team, so why be upset about it?

Had we paid none of the salary, nobody would have reported it and nobody would be upset about it.

Yeah exactly. When trading away a rental in Garcia, it's not like an extra $2M was going to net us Buxton or something
