I know how an addict feels. I turned this game off with every intention of not watching anymore till tonight. I checked score, and it was bad. Still, I turned it back on to see Greg F'n Holland K 2 of our key, young cogs. We are so done. I wish I could quit... I admit I am powerless...

The Braves had played better, although against bad teams, for 7 games. But everything that could go wrong this game, really has. And by everything, I truly mean everything. From Fried looking good to getting hurt, Allard proving the doubters correct, Carle dropping a major turd, to looking horrible against Holland.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Still think the Braves should’ve signed Holland. But maybe they didn’t want to promise him a 25-man spot, as it seems the Zombie Expos did.

We're gonna find out a lot about the braves the next 3 games. If the braves want to stick around, they can't let the nats destroy them like this.

Nats had a higher claim, right? Holland was just a beneficiary of his competition that inning

I thought he’d cleared waivers and then signed, but I haven’t been paying close attention, so maybe I’m wrong.

You're probably right. I haven't checked into it at all

Twitners lineup was the first domino of this loss. No way you rest guys against a favorable pitching matchup. We had flowers. Swanson and duval vs rhp. Plus Ender and the pitcher. Too many holes. Unfortunate about fried.

Yeah, if you're going to start Newk tonight (which is probably better as he's been a sweat machine in major humidity), while both he and Fried could use it, I'd like the framing with Flowers starting with him tonight. Rest is going to have to happen, but I don't really understand not trying to load up for the game that should have better odds for you. If you want to rest, rest tonight after a win.

If this score holds, the nats will pass us in RD...

    Braves +64
    Nats +72

Not sure how important this is though

The Nats were always a better team than the Braves. They were just crushed with injuries and oddly bad performances. This was never in doubt by intellifans.

The fast start coupled with their slow start hopefully gave the Braves enough of a cushion to hold them off for the rest of the season.

Now let's watch the Braves pound Scherzer and the mood of the board predictively flip over the course of 10 hours haha.
