Holy ****. I guess this answers the question of whether or not payroll is going up. At this point it basically has to for us to effectively address our remaining needs.

Huge signing to replace Keuchel! If Newk can replace Teheran this rotation could be pretty good.

Secret option 3 is a trade for a cheap impact bat.

The solution must be close if AA was willing to splurge on Hamels.

Rangers are out on Wheeler, which tells me his price tag is likely gonna exceed 25 million over 5 years. And the Phillies have just enough "stupid money" to pull it off.

I like Wheeler, but at least 5 years and 125 million (or more) is pretty dumb. The Phillies would be better off trying to spend max dollar to get Cole or Strasburg to come there, cause they aren't likely to be competitive in 4-5 years anyways. If your gonna spend stupid money, don't do it on second tier players.

I guess so. I'm not really that up to date with the internets. I still don't know how to stop all these damn pop ups.

God, please no. I'm ready to try Wilson before I go back to Newk.

the Phils signing Wheeler and JD still wouldn't make me particularly scared of them. the depth of their squad would still be dreadful, and they will no doubt overpay whoever they do end up signing, giving themselves more bad contracts that will fester in a few short years.

I truly believe AA cashes in on some of our pitching prospects for an impact bat, not real sure who it would be but my personal preference would be to get Mancini. Not sure if the O's will deal him or not though.

not sure he fits anywhere, but i've always liked Cesar Hernandez as a player. i don't see him getting much coin, but he'll be an excellent bench guy for someone.

I hated him with the faillies. But that was because he was so good against us. He would be a great 26th man imo.

where does he fit tho? he can really only play 2B, i'm pretty sure. he's not really a super-sub type. i could be wrong.

That is the kicker. Ozzie is not great elsewhere either. I thought Cesar could play on the left side. But I might be misremembering.

if he could passably play 3B and/or CF, he's more intriguing.

I will like to add Tanner Roark for fifth starter and leave Kyle Wright and all the other at the minors until someone get hurt.
