    Wtf... is wrong with Julio....

He's not an ace ... I get that but this is not him either. We are about 2/3 the way through the season and his era is above 5. I've never wanted him gone but it's getting there. Is he hurt again like 2015? What do you guys think

I don't think the stadium is very suited to him. He's also had a home run problem for a while. Could just be a down year but he should have been traded last season.

He doesn't post as often as he used to, which is unfortunate. The counting stats just aren't there.

He's just not a good pitcher.

The FO made a massive mistake not trading him

He is declining like all pitchers do when they hit their mid-20s. Like all pitchers, his stuff is declining from the day he entered the league.

Unfortunately, his command is also getting worse. He is now walking 3.5 per 9 this year. Most pitchers counter declining stuff in their mid-20s with improved command, but that's not happening with Teheran.

I think the most disappointing thing about Julio his whole MLB career is that he was billed as a fire baller in the mid to upper 90s at times in the early minors. He's never had great velocity in the majors. Seems like we are seeing this a lot with minor leaguers as they move up. Something definitely hit the MILB guns

Julio should have been moved when his best value to a rebuilding team was his trade value.

The Braves made a bet, not that he would continue to be good short term, but that he would still be good 3-4 years into the future when the "reload" would be complete. That was a bad bet. I said so at the time.

My concern is that the team is supposed to have self scouting activities. Where were those people?

Lol all pitchers begin declining in their mid 20s? Clayton Kershaw says otherwise.

Yes, a HOF example means I'm wrong.

Another brilliant contribution from the resident know-nothing

You can stop misusing the word, "reload," now. It's not even remotely close to reality. Julio wasn't traded because of blowback from the Shelby Miller deal. They most likely asked for too much. That said, he'll be OK when they get a true staff ace and Allard emerges, when Tehran can be effective as middle of rotation.

So you're saying Julio will pitch better based on the slot of the rotation he's occupying?

I think Julio has actually looked much better the past month. He will never be a TOR but I think he can rebound to be a 3 WAR pitcher again.

I don't think where a pitcher slots in a team's rotation is going to change how he pitches. Julio was the perceived ace of the staff and he's garbage right now. Pencil him in as the 4th of 5th of the rotation and he's still a bad pitcher. If he all of sudden pitches good again because he doesn't have the pressure of being the ace than he's mentally fragile and needs to kick rocks.
