are you under the impression every team values every player and prospect the same? A 45 fv prospect on one team might be viewed 55 fv prospect by another team. Personally though it was a great deal because I was super online with Giolito coming out of the draft. There were plenty of warning signs and Nats fans were not very optimistic about him at the time from what I saw.

I dont know about you but when I want clarification on what someone said I ask a question. You might notice the question mark at the end of the first sentence.
Heres another question. I'll add a few more question marks at the end so you can see them. What was your reaction at the time of the Renteria/Marte trade????? And no its not a trap question or meant to argue about stats I dont care for. Just generally curious.
I'll add a few more down here just in case ?????????

All I remember was not being a huge fan of Marte based on the little I saw of him in action. I can't remember having any actual thoughts on Renteria other than a contending team needed a MLB SS.
That was 12 years ago too, back when I was about as informed a fan as the typical poster here.

Red Sox prospect Jason Groome has Tommy John surgery. 2016 Draft turning into a real dud. At least in terms of the names we were tossing around at the time. Groome, Puk, Pint, Lewis....
Matt Wieters, already on the DL, has surgery on his hamstring. No word on time point for return

Good digs on the fools that produce and listen to sports talk shows always make me chuckle haha....

Jay Jaffe: this is the kind of what-have-you-done-for-me-lately crap that belongs on sports talk radio. They won 102 games last year, took it to Game 7 of the World Series the year before and despite a few minor issues and injuries are in first place in a terrible division at the one-quarter mark. But yeah, let’s fire the manager.

Rangers now officially listening on vets.
Still not interested in overpaying for him, but willing to admit Beltre would look nice with a tomahawk across his chest for the remainder of 2018.

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

If the Rangers decide to bow it up this offseason as they should, Mazara is a decent target for LF.
Theres more to it than surplus value and FV. Yes, theoretically it would be best for them to trade everything thats not nailed down for prospects but some teams dont want to be basement dwellers for several years in a row. It can really kill a fan bases interest to have a turrible team. Ideally it works out like the Astros and you win a world series but theres also the chance of becoming a perennial loser like the Royals and Pirates were for many year where it was one failed rebuild after another. Its hard for little kids to become fans when the team is losing 100 games.

Hamels is also available, and the Braves are one of the teams he can't block a trade to. Might not be a bad option if McCarthy gets hurt. He's pitched pretty well this year, and has a $6M buyout for next season (or $20M if we keep him)
