I guess they could make a run whenever they make up the 15 games they rescheduled due to non-inclement weather

Didn’t like snits comments about having a traditional line up. Said that is why the plan for comargo to get a lot of at bats isn’t happening.
Jd hasn’t had a day off in a while. Neck is still playing way to much.
Love the way they are playing now but it’s a long season.

Yeah I'm pretty confident in that as well. At worst we are 3rd.
The fact that we have a team this good while still maintaining a top 4 or 5 farm system is really exciting to thing about. I tend to be one of the more realistic fans who tempers his expectations, but moving foward its pretty hard not to get giddy about the way our future is looking. Out of the non-rich teams, there aren't any teams who can boast what the Braves and Rays can.
Yeah I don’t like that either. Donaldson and Markakis definitely need to be rested on occasion and Camargo fills the role of giving them days off perfectly.
Beyond that though I see where he’s coming from. Who do you take out? Acuna has to play right now so that leaves Riley Swanson Albies and Freeman. The first 3 are young and should be good going everyday with just a couple random days off and Freeman just makes himself so hard to take out.
I think we’re going to start seeing the rest for Donaldson and Markakis increase when Ender returns. Acuna will be able to move to Left or Right as needed and Riley can move to 3rd as needed. We still have most if not all of our away interleague games remaining. So there’s that too.
Either way I expect AA to get together with Snit at the All-Star break and work out a strategy for the rest of the way.
Nationals would be smart to tear it down now while they have good tradeable assets to jumpstart their rebuild. They really just need a reset. They dont have the prospects or the payroll left to fix their pen baring catching lightning in a bottle.

Maybe that's true but they're on the fringe of contention. They're certainly in it for the wild card. It's hard to tear a team down at that point. If they did go that direction though they do have marketable pieces, but I think they'll try to compete. I certainly don't take them lightly.
Anyone else think we should consider signing Rosenthal to a minor league deal to see if he can figure himself out? He was pretty great with St. Louis and I'd be cool with taking a flyer on him to see if he can get his BB/9 under 20.0.
But seriously, maybe not him, but those are exactly the types of guys I hope we pursue. Low cost/risk with moderate to high upside. I'd like to see us sign 1-2 of those types along with maybe a bigger acquisition in July.
I was speaking more in terms of wild card contention. The Harper situation may influence their approach on Rendon, who would likely net a set of nice prospects. Kieboom didn't do well in his first big-league stint, but they could slot him in at 3B in the short term. Performance to this point aside, the Nationals still have the potential to get to the wild card. Like I said, teams still have to play the games. I just don't see them going into tear-down mode.
