He gets massive publicity every year where his career achievements are shoved down our throats ad nauseum.

In an odd way, this is more recognition than the HOF.

Maybe induct his stats in or some **** like that. That would be fun.

at this point, screw him. he probably bet on games as a player, maybe threw some games (or tried). can't trust that he didn't.

I'm sure they have some of his memorbillia in the hall of fame already. That should be good enough.

They already do have some of his stuff in there. I've been a big defender of him getting in eventually if he came clean to the commissioner. But I can't say I support that anymore after this.

Commented this morning that this is some of the stuff that Giamatti probably had and never surfaced. But someone knew about it and was waiting for the appropriate time to use it. With a new commish in place and discussion beginning, it's funny it now has surfaced after that many years.

I still say his accomplishments belong in the HOF.

His accomplishments, of course, but he violated baseball's cardinal sin...in the worst way. Leo Durocher was suspended a year, just for consorting with unsavory characters. Pete's punishment and personal hell are about appropriate then.

They are. The Hall of Fame museum already has plenty of Pete Rose info and memorabilia. But he's not getting a plaque in the big room. Nor should he (maybe after he dies).

The investigator on Jim Rome yesterday totally buried him, took some bulldozers and shove more dirt on him, then took some airplanes with the fire retardant to make sure he is buried. Dude pulled no punches. Later on Rome, the mobster he alluded to said that if Rose was family he would be dead by now, but usually they break arms and legs because they still want their money and dead men can't pay. I think he paid the mob back but was so far in debt he had to get his GLORY back, but he burned bridges and was too proud. If he came clean at the beginning about the mob, someone would have help him at that time.

His presence in Cooperstown every year, over induction weekend, has to be a source of irritation to the Hall. They take the high road and pretend not to notice.

Not before Shoeless Joe. The numbers don't bear out that he helped throw the WS.

I'll go as far as to say that should put a plaque in one of the bathroom stalls in the men's restroom.

For those who don't know cobb, or thing they do, you might want to read this.

If A-Rod is in, Rose is in as far as I'm concerned. A-Rod has a different vice but he was just as bad and just as dishonest about it. No difference to me.

There is one cardinal rule in baseball, it is posted in every locker room in every stadium minors and majors, NO BETTING ON BASEBALL.

Rose not only did it while a manager it now appears there is proof he did it while playing. For that reason No he should not be allowed in the HOF. Now if they really want him in there I would be ok as long as it is after he dies. He should never be allowed to profit from the selection, which is why he wants the honor anyway. so He can charge more money for autographs and memorabilia.
