ERA isn't the best indicator, but post-All-Star break ERA is below 3. He's definitely had a few tough outings but the strides are evident.

    You had one unforced error.

    Missed the chance for Ozhaiño

Foltyñewicz was optional since it's a pitcher.

Rotation is shaping up very nicely. I like the idea of having all 5 starters on postseason roster. Soroka / Keuchel / Fried are the locks for first 3 games. One of Folty / Teheran starts the 4th. The other is available for any of first 4 games depending on if starter is struggling. Gives flexibility to have very tight early leash if one of starters is struggling. If Folty can be consistent to end the season you probably feel better about making him the clear 4th starter.

If folty continues what he has done the last few weeks he is our #1 starter

If Fried continues to do what he's done he's our No. 1. As is Keuchel. And really, Julio.

    come on, man.

Other than Fried, Folty is our highest ceiling starter

I still don’t think coach K is getting his props enough. We praise these pitchers and rightfully so but all five of these guys have looked better than last year sans Folty who dealt with an injury and is now finally looking like Folty of old. Even Newk is throwing better.

I know we had disasters like minter. Sobot. Winkler. Gasman and others. But sometimes transitions take longer and sometimes talent is already maxed out.

I guess I am the type that feels since I blasted chuckie a ton last year, I should give praise to coach K this year. I might pull some pitching numbers as the year progressed. We all know the starters are on quite a run.

Starting JT is not a mistake. Letting JT go 100 pitches and face the heart of a lineup 3 times is a mistake.

It's fine as long as he's not left in too long and that match-ups are used. If not, then I agree.

It will be interesting to see what we do if we face the Dodgers in the playoffs. They use heavy platoons and we can neutralize that by using the opener. I especially like the idea of using Newcomb as bait, and then in the 2nd inning go Folty if they go righty, or Fried if they go lefty.
