I've seen studies that show that you're much more likely to be molested by a school teacher than a Catholic priest. Hardly an epidemic.

Well this one went off the rails quicker than the normal terrorist attack thread...

Whoever is doing the molesting, there are a lot more child victims of molestation by an adult than there are victims of terrorist attacks in the United States.
PS--And count me among those who believe that all child molesters regardless of race, creed, or religion should be punished to the full extent of the law, cultural excuses or not. We still have forced child marriages (though they are often secret) in the Hmong population in Minnesota. That has to stop.

Evil wears many skins. Beyond human loss of life, ISIL has committed some of the most heinous acts of recent memory by systematically destroying our collective cultural heritage; I refuse, however, to equate ISIL with Islam (in the catholic sense) simply because they claim Islam as their own to interpret and pervert. Evil is done in many names, but we double-down on that evil by accepting at face value the proposition that evil done in the name of something makes that something itself evil.
"For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal."
So if Islam didn't exist do you think there would be large grouping's of radicals in the middle east? Do you think there would be some countries where over 50% believe in Sharia law?
Islam is a large part of the problem right now. Why aren't there large terrorist organizations around the globe that pracTice other religons?
A white supremacist went to New York yesterday with the express intent of killing black men, because of his beliefs about the violation of white womanhood or some such thing.
He stabbed a guy to death. He's hardly the first to kill in the name of that ideology. Using your logic, what are we to extrapolate from his actions?
It's those types of false equivalence that confuse people as to the real threat. Radical Islam is a global movement that endangers the world.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm all for kicking the **** out of ISIS.
Broadly speaking, I feel like that's doing the world a favor.
I'm not for conflating them with other people who practice the religion that they claim.
