This is good. It gives him a bit of time to get straight and see if he can help us this year. He could turn it around but I don’t think things would get fixed under pressure with him.

Fine, but I'm not sure there's a pitching coach alive who can fix his head, put a knot in his tail and make him grow the hell up.

His emotions aren't the reason that his fastball had an average velocity of 95.1 entering tonight which is by far the lowest of his career. His stuff just isn't as good. That's mechanical/injury related to me.

His slider not sliding has been an even bigger issue—and, again, seems more mechanical than emotional.

I think that average is skewed by his first few starts. I couldn’t watch the game tonight (thanks FOX), but he’s been routinely hitting 98 on the gun the last few outings.

His slider is a different story, however. Something is definitely wrong there.

Last night's data isn't available yet but his prior 2 starts it was 95.8 and 95.3. He wasn't even averaging 95 in his first 4 starts so you are right about that. Still not a good sign.

Fb velocity isn’t my main concern. It’s his slider having no horizontal break and less control.

I’m worried he’s changed something to avoid pain and it’s ruined his slider

I was hopeful Folty was righting the ship. He was pretty good over his last 6 starts coming into yesterday, averaging 9 k/9 and a BB rate under 3.

Hopefully it's mechanical and he can right the ship in Gwinett and be back up the 1st week after the break.

He was hitting 99 mph his last outing. Velocity is not the issue. He isn't gonna pitch in the high 90's much longer. He's gonna have to learn how to pitch, how to throw strikes and get hitters out.

It’s not like Folty is this young guy that just needs time. He has never been the sharpest tool in the shed, but because his stuff was so dang good...he could get away with it.

Now his stuff has backed off a bit...still really good...but you take that away and make him actually pitch...he can’t. I think his stuff has declined a bit (which is normal), and this is who Folty is. Could he have surgery to fix the bone fragments..sure. Folty has never been a very healthy guy.

He has two years of control left after this year. He won’t be that cheap. This deadline may be the perfect time to move him.

Eh, if we were gonna move him, it should have been last winter when his value was peak.

You wouldnt get as much right now given the season he's had.
