But surely you understand the difference between DACA being politically important and dreamers=votes.

Actively courting Latinx votes is not a devious end. It's politics. So is courting anti-immigration votes. It's how elections work. And I'd argue that it is possible for policy preferences and politics to overlap.

FWIW, most DACA beneficiaries are in big blue states, and Texas.

The Latinos that are here legally is completely different. They should vote however their heart desires. The left has supported open borders as a method to get votes. There is no sensible reason to import low educated low skill workers into a country that already has plenty of those.

Also, the left has desires on flipping Texas. They believe the large Latino population is the start and then letting as many illegals in the country as possible is a method to turn it completely. This is accomplished either by letter illegals vote, which they do, or hoping their next generation votes Democrat.

This is hogwash. Immigrants are free to vote any way they want to, or not vote at all, like most Americans. Another example of how politics, for the GOP, is all about race, and specifically, denying people of color their rightful seat at the table of government and society.

Since you brought it up, Trump's wall and his whole immigration policy is really just an attempt to slow down the un-whitening of the demographic which doesn't bode well for the GOP. It isn't about security; it's about votes.

Further, latino communities are the one mostly impacted by illegal immigrants. Polls show that a large portion of them support crackdowns on illegals entering the country.

Most people support DACA. That is clear from the polling. Wish it weren't the case but if a majority of the people support something in this county then I believe that should pass even if I personally am against it.

Mexico is a an absolute disaster. Its not a stretch to assume that a percentage of those people ILLEGALLY crossing the border have ill intentions. The drug trade is real and those are a good portion of the people sneaking into the US to sell their warez.

I'm more pleased than not with the Trump presidency, but I still wonder what a Cain presidency would have been like. He also wanted to simplify taxes and regulations to grow the economy. He was from a VERY humble background, has more small business knowledge, is slightly more personable, and wouldn't be thought of as a racist.

Dr. Carson is more of an unknown on the economy, but he did say the right things. He was probably the most intelligent presidential candidate of my lifetime. I had high hopes for both. I hope the GOP can do a better job of promoting minority candidates in the future, because I really think both of these guys had the potential to be great at the job.
