Cargo is a considerably worse player in basically every way imaginable at this point.

Ok, so why is he projected a higher WAR than Nick?

They are pretty close in most projections. But Neck has been a considerably better player, each of the last 2 seasons. And Cargo has been unplayable away from Coors. Ideally you don't want either player starting for you, but if our choices were Neck or Cargo, I'm chooising Neck every time

How does cargo and dufail compare. I would have rather spent 2 mil on cargo over what ever we are paying for dufail.

Cargos career away obp is barely over .300. Can’t hit lefties anymore. He has a cool nickname and played in coors. If his
Name was John Thomas and played in Seattle he’d probably be out of baseball

Yeah. I mixed up cargo in my head with the other gonzo. I was thinking he was a righty. Not interested in him over neck. And that says a lot since I hated the neck signing.

Because the steamer projections are super optimistic for him for some reason. Zips has him at an 88 WRC+ with 0.3 WAR which I think is a much better prediction for him.

    Not surprising at all.

Remember Gausman had a bad walk rate for the Braves?

Touki getting knocked around early. Throwing a flat breaker that’s getting hammered

    It’s televised for anyone interested.

Touki is very clearly working on his breaking ball and change early, and isn’t commanding them very well. Back to back changes to a RHH isn’t something we will see during the regular season.

I think the rumor of increased body mass and velocity on fastball could be accurate

Irony: the pitcher everyone wanted to dump is shaping up to be the best and healthiest option in the rotation.

One positive thing you can say about JT is that he has been really durable for us. IP of 185, 221, 200, 188, 188, 175

Imagine how many more innings he'd pitch for us per year if he wasn't already at 80 pitches through 3 innings most starts.
