Ted was his daddy's favorite player, therefore, it makes Taylor an expert on him.

Kevin Seitzer for hitting coach of the year. Acuna lowering his hands has allowed everything to fall into place and the guy that just crushed it last year across 3 levels in the minors to appear. The guy that we saw pre lowered hands had issues reaching away pitches and most of the time with velocity, so because of that he got away from who he is as a hitter a bit and was just swinging at everything, since he was so afraid of covering those problems. Now with lowered hands he can get to what he was struggling with, so instead of stressing about not being able to reach away from him and premium velocity, he’s let the game slow down, is just trying to rip the ball, and the eye that he showed in the spring has returned.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

I can't believe I just saw Ted Williams mentioned in a discussion about a 20 year old baseball player. I think we need to create a new rule that is the reverse of Godwin's Law. The first one to invoke Babe Ruth or Ted Williams as a comp for a prospect/young player immediately loses the argument. We can call it SJ's law.

I saw Seitzer putting Ender through a drill I had never seen before that looks like an excellent way to teach a hitter to keeps his hands inside the ball.

The tee was placed in front of the plate at the point of contact, but there was a rope from the back point of the plate up to the top of the cage. To hit the ball up the middle Ender was forced to keep the bat is against his body during the swing, and then buggy whip it out front. It should help keep guys from casting the bat head out around the ball (Heyward's main problem).

No idea how good of a coach he is, but I like that drill.

I feel like Ozzie should be using this drill often. Most of the times I see him take an non competitive swing its because he is either out in front or his hands are behind the bat head and he just rolls over the ball.

It's not rocket science to figure out Albies' issue...we all see it every day.

The below images show the main difference between the Braves' two young phenoms...

Oh yeah let me be clear... Albies main issue is without a doubt plate discipline. Its something that has to improve moving forward. I'm just saying that for about a month, Ozzie has had some occasions where he has taken some pretty ugly swings that have resulted in weaker contact than typical for him. Maybe some of that is due to him chasing pitches out of the zone as well, but I also think some of it is him just being a little out of sorts mechanically. I haven't seen these issues in his mechanics the past couple of games fortunately
