To be honest I think the Phillies and Nationals figured out how to top the Braves this weekend. For the spot the Nationals are in, splitting a series with the second worst team in the NL at home is really inexcusable. Then the Phillies regained ground but in their 3 losses....24-4??? Letting Jason Vargas punk you until the 6th?
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

That deGrom guy isn't too bad either.

Is it really though? One team has mailed it in after expectations for years. The other two have been playing above their heads nearly all season and had a ton of young players.

    3-9 is a bad weekend.

RD is a big stat here. After this weekend, the nats, braves, and Phillies are +152 with all being positive. After this weekend, the Rockies, Mets, and marlins are - 228 with all being negative

Everything that could go wrong went wrong in that Rockies series. I'm hoping that means we've gotten that out of the way and can actually have things be at least neutral moving forward.

Didn’t realize the Rockies RD was so bad. I wonder what it is since June.

They have woefully inconsistent pitching and a really good but streaky offense.

All things considered, and as bad as our luck was this past weekend, we are still in first place with a much easier schedule this week. I think we can pull ahead by at least a few games by this time next week.
I think the Phillies will continue to struggle, and the Nats are dead. I woke up actually feeling very about things.

Right. It was the Syndergaard game they won. Got them mixed up, even with the hair cut.

Yes it’s a bad weekend, but it’s not shocking. The NL East is a weak division. One team has thrown in the towel and the other two are good stories, but unknown and have youngsters who aren’t as tested.

Probably just woke up and didn’t have your homerism creamer in your coffee yet. Glad to see you back to normal and just handing the division over to the Braves.

The Braves and Phillies are both right there for best record in the NL, and the Nats are above .500. How is it a weak division? Or are you just talking out of your ass like usual?

The east is a combined 302-319. The central is 326-297. The west is 314-312.
Do you just post things and hope on the off chance that you might be correct? I mean the Mets rotation is Syndergaard and trash, right?

    Wow. Nice cherry picking.

And of course you bring up a post that you completely missed the point of, because you can’t read. I never said that about the Mets rotation, ever. Keep hilariously failing.

Cherry picking? What other way is there to judge teams besides record?

Well, combining the Braves/Phils record with the Marlins and Mets is a bit misleading. Pretty big standard deviation there.

    Run differential.

But all total record demonstrates is that there are two really bad teams in the division. The implication by calling it a poor division is that the Braves are only in the thick of it because they have no competition for first place, or that the Braves, Phillies, and Nats are all bad teams. That isn’t the case.
