The ending to Avengers was insane. Finally got to see the greatest super hero of all time fix the whole thing.

    Spoiler:
Can you believe it was old Man Jenkins the whole time? Thank goodness for the omnipotent Shaggy

Saw it last year, but still haunted by it. Might be both PTA’s and DDL’s most underrated film of the past two decades.

Considering most of what DDL has done in the last 2 decades has been critically acclaimed (Gangs of New York, There Will be Blood, and Lincoln being the big 3) it's quite easy for a role of his to go underrated. And since Boogie Nights was over 20 years ago, I will agree with you on PTA.

Sold out here the whole weekend.

    I haven't been to a theater in 14 years.

Saw Endgame and I realize I am not the demographic they are shooting for, but I thought it was three hours of the most ponderous story-telling I have ever watched. I was disappointed at the end of the first chapter of the story (which I also thought was overwrought and ponderous), but I had to see how the story landed after hanging off a cliff. Some poignancy rescues it a bit (sorry if that's a semi-spoiler), but I will have to admit I was disappointed. Obvious spin-offs in the offing.

The Sisters Brothers is free on Hulu for those who have that service. Interesting movie that I am going to have to watch again because I obviously missed a few things. John C. O'Reilly, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jake Gyllenhaal all do good work in this off-beat Western.

    Spoilers...

Saw Endgame yesterday. I would’ve preferred to see more action in the first half of the film but I understand the buildup was necessary. The fight scene over the last part of the film was awesome. Ever since having kids any sort of sad movie moment involving kids/parents always hits me hard. Didn’t full on cry but was definitely welling up a bit. Excited for the future of the MCU and the inclusion of the F4 and X-Men

It's okay my Illini brother, I tear up as well on shows and movies, its human, if you don't it builds on you.

Anyway, I can't get tickets for awhile, the lots at both theaters are always full and no tickets available. And I do the WWE "Damn" and walks out.

Also, Go Illini!!!! Just wish I knew your username on there. You know I am one of the admins of the site and probably the nicest of the mods. I don't ban people unless I really have to.

I want to see this movie so bad and I can't wait. The last movie I saw in a theater was Serenity because I am a huge Firefly fan.

Will they ever get this group right? Is Chris Evans the only actor to play two different characters in the Marvel universe, portraying both Johnny Storm and Steve Rogers?

I would love to see a Silver Surfer-centric movie. Galactus is one of my faves.

I think now that Marvel is going to be running the show and not Fox that they will indeed get FF4 right. I have no reason to doubt them.

And no. Michael B Jordan also played Johnny Storm in the awful FF4 reboot as well as Killmonger in Black Panther.

As well as Josh Brolin being Thanos and Cable.

Edit: They are a few actually. From John Favreau to Ryan Reynolds and others.

Finally got around to watching this movie. Not a bad film version of a fascinating and mostly forgotten piece of American history. I wasn't a fan of casting Matthew M to play Newton Knight, whose towering size was legendary, but he did an admirable job, and much respect to him for just doing the movie.

Interesting movie that didn't tell the whole story, but I enjoyed it. Knight was really something else.

I grew up about an hour north of here and never heard a whiff of this story until the book came out a few years ago. I even spent a few weekends in Ellisville, where my girlfriend's grandmother lived, and never heard a peep of this interesting history.

I had absolutely no idea about this story until the movie came out. Of course, I grew up on the other end of the Mississippi and all we ever heard about (and continue to hear about) up here is the gallantry of the First Minnesota at Gettysburg. Watching the movie, I sensed a somewhat libertarian, and yet equalitarian, undertone as in "Don't tell me who to love. Don't tell me who to fight. Just leave me alone." But it's truly a compelling story.
