Everyone wants to believe in a career year and think it's sustainable. He's more likely to have a sub 300 OBP than a repeat of last year's numbers.

The platoon needs to be Jace and Adonis. Out of those 3 rodriguez should play everyday but moves between 2B and 3B

I don't think it's sustainable and never said it was.
Not too hard imagine an 800
OPS is still possible considering he sat st 860 last year

Best I've heard so far, which I saw on MLBTR, is that the Nationals feel they have the depth to pull off deals for both Sale and McCutchen while not dealing their top two prospects. Good luck with that.

#Braves made a run at Sonny Gray. #Athletics never asked for Swanson, but Atl still found price too high.

Something clicked for him last season. BaBip 44 points higher than career mark. Hard hit ball % super high compared to career avg which leads to high fb/hr % . If that goes close to his career numbers then his overall numbers will drop fast.

Perception of outside executives is that #Astros #Nationals are teams trying hardest for Sale #Whitesox, #Braves next

I'd like to have him, but the price has to be completely series. I know the A's will ask a lot, but dude was awful last night.

The Phillies problem was that they held on too long still trying to go for it and they didn't have a good farm system to support the major league team. If you have money and/or a farm system, I don't see the problem going for it (assuming reasonable moves). Its best to have a mixture of vets and young players.

I really don't see the desire to trade for Sale, but an outfielder makes a ton of sense. If I was them I would be after Eaton instead of McCutchen.

That team could be really good, imo, if they went a different route than it looks like they are heading. Instead they are looking at a small number of impact guys instead of spreading it out a little and attacking more potential weaknesses. They want to win one for the 90+ year old owner.

Trade for Eaton (without giving up Robles)
    Sign Pearce
    Sign Melancon
    Sign Tyson Ross

    Norris, Pearce or Zimmerman/Murphy/Turner/Rendon/Werth/Eaton/Harper

    Max/Stras/Roark/Ross/Ross/Gonzalez/whatever young pitchers leftover Lopez/Giolito/Fedde/Cole

    Melancon/Kelley/Treinen/Solis/Glover

I'd go for Eaton instead as well. Solid player.

If I was CWS I'd really like Turner to come back in any deal with Washington, even if nothing else came back other than lower minors fodder.

I doubt they would trade Turner for Eaton, that would defeat the purpose of the deal. I guess they could for Sale, but that doesn't really make sense either. They pretty much have to keep Turner, even though they seem to like Difo a lot.

Im sorry, I didn't mean Turner for Eaton.

I was just commenting that Eaton would be a great target for someone needing OF help. Solid player...

I meant if I was the CWS, I'd target Turner in a deal with the Nats.

I'm thinking we could hear a move for at least one veteran reliever maybe two.
