Bowman says Maitan, Gutierrez and Bae are three who are mentioned in this. Also says he'd be surprised if we didn't lose at least one player.
Bae is the one I'd be most upset at losing.

"I am your retribution."

Taking Maitan would be to much imo. Everybody knew he was coming here long before the signing period and we paid way over the penalty for him.
I think MLB is going to hammer us. The punishment will far outstrip the crime.
One thing I haven't seen discussed in regards to taking away players is the financial aspect. If you took away Maitan for example not only is the player lost but also the money paid to him as a bonus and the MLB overage penalty. The financial loss would be much higher than anything ever levied against a team.
I think the penalty will be restrictions going forward not losing players.
I think the big part of the punishment would have been a lengthy suspension for Coppy. The FO foiled Manfred in that part.
If they take Matian away and he's allowed to go and get another multi-million dollar bonus it's going to create a mess. Every kid out there who wants to get paid again is going to cry foul. MLB is pretty dumb if they do that.
I still think it was last year's J2 class where we did not have the money to throw around and Coppy was feeling spunky for getting away with other infractions. Bae had to of been shady. If Coppy had been getting away with things he was surely overly brazen by the time he signed Bae.

I'll be surprised if the Braves don't lose at least one of their international prospects. Maitan, Gutierrez and Bae are among the players who could be affected by the penalties.
Here's what we can expect on Maitan: If we get to keep him, he'll end up being a bust. If we lose him, he will be a 1st ballot HOFer.

Anybody subscribe to The Athletic? The title isn't great.
Nothing new in there. Just that we are losing prospects, like the headline says.
Just get this over with. Stop the madness, but it does sound like Enscheff is going to be wrong, but it seems more of making an example than actual extremely bad stuff. Of course, an Atlanta/Georgia sports team is made an example of something that likely always happens. It just has to be us. It really sucks.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
Rosenthal did not list forfeiting draft picks as a possible outcome. That would be interesting. It looks like we are going to be cut off from signing international prospects for a while, so keeping our draft picks is really important so we can keep adding talent to the system.
The implications of the penalties will most likely be felt in the early 2020s when these international guys would be coming up.
