It hurts high state tax areas (which includes me). Otherwise it helps the majority of the rest of the country.

Well, it was certainly an interesting time to live in Alabama. Just glad it’s over. I can now watch local television and listen to the radio and not get bombarded with all these ads. At this moment, I still have not heard a concession from Moore, but that doesn’t matter. Jones won and he needs to accept that reality and ride his horse into retirement.

For Doug Jones, he promised to reach across the aisle. He better do that, or he will be a one term senator. This is still a red state. Yesterday, things went entirely his way to win the election, not the least of which, running against the worst possible candidate the Republicans could have had. The conservatives in Alabama, and there are still a lot of them, won’t be looking hard for a reason to vote against him the next time. Especially if it’s a candidate the majority of the base can rally around, unlike the case with Moore.

Hopefully, I provided at least a little insight from a person who is a native and lifelong Alabama resident. It’s been quite a year for politics in our state. I think I speak for a majority of the people here when I say that we need a break from politics for a while. It won’t be a long one though, as we will have a governor’s race in 2018. That promises to be a circus as well.

And with that, my personal ban from talking politics is now reinstated.

What I have been saying, selling their soul for short term victories unless they blow up and destroy everything before their old voters die

Roy Moore won voters 65+ by 19 points.

He lost all other age groups by 8 points.

The best economists can't forecast the upcoming quarter. Forgive me if I don't think these projections are 100% accurate.

Yeah...I'd love to know these magical policies that the left implements which have proven to help blacks.

Afterwards please explain how the I Flux of low skilled workers from other counties help blacks.

Well, in light of court decisions in NC and Wisconsin and the Republican-led effort to let the precertification provisions of the VRA lapse, I'd say that fighting against racially-motivated vote suppression efforts is a good start.

What about economic opportunity? Shouldn't that be the most important thing?

I'd follow up by saying that better access to affordable health care, early childhood education and higher education is probably helpful.

But go ahead and make your pitch for trickle-down economics and strict immigration controls. It's been notably successful so far.

Yeah..must the small factor of lowest unemployment rate for blacks since it was tracked. Small things.

With more jobs you don't red the governments teet for health care and education. Bit of course the left doesn't want blacks to come off government assistance. Lose those votes...

I said it already but it bears repeating. One party has been repeatedly dinged in court for specifically attempting to enact measures to make it harder for black Americans to vote. Til you can approach that with some good faith, I don't know how much traction you're going to get by shouting about immigration.

How well has Rand Paul done inside his caucus advocating for criminal justice reform?

Because being employed means you can afford health insurance.
