Yes they did but soon after the late 90's that all changed.

I think people forget how dominate the 90s Braves teams were in the postseason against the NL.

They absolutely destroyed the Cardinals in 96 after falling down 3-1. That was probably the best moment as a Brave fan for me. Even more than the WS.

I was at the elimination game against the Astros in 2004. They didn't play with much emotion that night. Furcal hit a meaningless HR at the end then had to enter jail the next morning for the DUI.

Does anyone know if we're expecting a sell out tonight?

Ugh. I was at that game, too. What a bummer.

I know a lot of people will disagree with what I'm about to say but here goes. I think we have one factor in our corner that most are forgetting or don't recognize. Our Manager is better and already making great, hard to make moves. LA does have great pitching that we will have to get past, and odds are we won't be hitting home runs to win the game. Gonzalez knows that and that's why he has loaded up the roster with all the speed he can get. He plans on being able to play small ball to win these games. Those are hard decisions to make for a manager to leave your highest paid player off the roster, but he did it. I was a huge for of Bobby Cox, but I don't think Cox would have done that, and I think I'm already seeing better managing of the team than I've seen in the past.

I agree that the odds should favor LA just a little, but I think with Gonzalez making the right moves with pinch hits, runners in the right spots, we push across a few runs and that might change the direction of the series in our favor.

Tell you what, Furcal showed in that series what a player can do with the proper motivation.

School night and a late start. Cost of tickets might have something to do with it. And the same old tired lament of location.

I'm confident the game will be soldout by game time. Just hope that doesn't mean a few thousand Dodger fans bought the rest of the tickets. Would hate for it to be a sea of blue like the Cubs series in 2003.

That was absolutely disgusting. Sea of blue. Vomit. Thanks a lot Pittsburgh for just handing over key players for the Cubs that year. Jerks.

I hope we're sold out. Last year the wild card playoff was a day game in the middle of the week and it was sold out. I was there and it was electric. I'll be there tonight and am hoping the Ted is as loud, if not more loud and electric than it was last year.

I, for one, hope they do go ahead and play the NLDS.

Last year's Wild Card game was also going to potentially be Chipper's last game (ended up obviously), so I don't know if that was extra motivation for fans to come out.

Cards also seem to have a better traveling fanbase than Dodgers.

I was about to book my tickets to fly into Atlanta for the game but cancelled when I heard that Dan wouldn't be playing

That was certainly extra motivation for me to decide to make the trip down from NY, also the fact that if we won I could stay in town and catch the first two games of the NLDS since we would have been home. The fact it was a Friday made it easy, only had to miss one day of work

Yup the usual bs that Atlanta residents come up with every year. If it was the 4 pm game it would be "we couldn't get off work." Now that it's at 830 it's " a school night and the game is starting too late." Never effing fails.

I expect there to be plenty of Dodger fans on hand.
