Also, two of these guys will be here next year(and Martin can be easily signed), and with other guys on the way for next year....this should at least stabilize us this year and set the ground work for an elite pen next year.

So we gave up Allard and Demeritte (two guys probably going unprotected in the draft).

Beck....which I think most of us we “meh” on

Wentz...the only one that bothered me, but he also doesn’t excite me at this point (low velo guy for his size).

We have all our big guys to make trades with in the summer if the right deal comes up. I’m good with this.

Astros are going for it and might win it all again with that rotation. Great day for them.

Nothing wrong with what they are doing. They get to make a playoff run which has value in terms of fan interest and ticket sales then can get draft picks for Bumgarner and Smith.

Right-handers Corbin Martin and J.B. Bukauskas, first baseman Seth Beer and infielder Josh Rojas for Greinke! Probably one more player

Yeah that is a steep price to pay. Wonder if it includes any money. Great move though. They get 2.5 years of Greinke who is probably the safest bet of any pitcher in baseball.

Great signing overall for the DBacks. Funny how well the absurd contracts given to Greinke and Cano turned out for their team.

I do hope there is a TON of money coming back for Melancon. I hope he's not O'Day part 2.

Honestly it looks like Wentz plus guys that might have been cleared out on the 40 man anyway.

You still have the option of adding Gasman, Fried or Folty to the pen in the post season.
How would he be O'Day part 2? O'Day was only included in the Gausman deal to lessen the cost and was injured at the time. Melancon isn't injured and has been effective for the past 3 years.

Will we have a problem with the 40-man roster after this 3 new pitchers?
Winkler was one I think, but who else will be cut?
