You don't usually see a kid struggling in AAA called up, high ERA and batters hitting .299 against him. Makes me think this might just be for tonight.

I think it’s entirely because he’s on the 40 and it was his night to pitch tonight. Other 40 options (including Weigel and Parsons) had recently thrown innings.

I agree, they wanted an extra long man it seems. My guess is Touki pitches if we are ahead or close. If Newk has a train wreck of a game, then you might see the kid to save Touki for Sunday.
