I’ve travelled pretty extensively in forty-seven of them, and Indiana has very little to redeem it outside of Three Floyds Brewing in the Chicago suburb of Munster. But Mississippi is pretty low on my list, as well (apologies to its residents on these boards), alongside my birthstate (Florida) and the non-Cleveland portions of Ohio.
Nevada is actually pretty dope, outside Clark County—but you have to like desolate landscapes and Reno/Tahoe (both of which I do, fwiw).

It is what it is. Basically an odd mix of wannabe PNW granola eaters and wannabe Bay Area elites in Reno/Tahoe, an absolute zoo in Vegas full of SoCal wannabes, and a huge empty state sprinkled with ignorant rednecks who haven't spent a day outside whatever county they currently live in. Essentially a "red" poor and uneducated state that has been out-voted by 2 "blue" educated and wealthy population centers...like most states.
The weather is decent, no real congestion, and a six figure salary sets you up pretty well here despite the money constantly coming in from the CA coast that drives up real estate prices.
I can be to an international airport or hunting in the mountains in 10-15 minutes from my house, so it has a bit of the "best of both worlds" feel to it that I appreciate.

That is a little surprising, but I know in Wisconsin (not sure about the others) that all of the state universities in Wisconsin fall under one university system. In Minnesota, it's bifurcated between the University of Minnesota and a different statewide system with a half dozen-or-so campuses (or would that be campi?). If you have a single system with a lot of different campuses, you can rack up the employees in a hurry.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
When I worked at EWU I used to go to the Big Sky tournament in Reno. I thought Reno was a dump. I like Vegas though. Now that I'm in Mississippi, I love Oxford. Tons of nice local places to eat. I haven't eaten at a big corp chain hardly at all in the 6 months since I got here. Haven't been to Starkville yet. Best part of living here is I can watch every Braves game on tv without having to buy MLBTV. This is the first year in its existence that I have not subscribed. Only commenting bc the thread was discussing Nevada and Mississippi at some point in different posts. lol
Go Braves
That's because downtown Reno is a dump. Just a bunch of casinos that don't have the money to be over the top exhibitions folks are used to seeing on the strip in Vegas.
Nobody with any money spends any time downtown unless it's for one of the god awful events they like for some reason.
