If you could move Kemp while paying only what you were paying Oliveira that would be a win. Don't think that's likely, but maybe. That would be a good use of money. Kemp makes 21, the Dodgers contribution brings it to 18.
Oliveira was making 6.5 in 2018, 7.5 in 2019, and 8.5 in 2020. If Braves shipped 7 million for each of the next two years, the team that got Kemp would be paying him about 11 million per. Would anyone do that for giving up nothing? Maybe an AL team?
If you could do that trade, you would be getting a season and a half of competent offense from Kemp, eliminating the 2020 obligation to Oliveira and being where you started on 2018 and 2019. That would be a decent win in my book.
Move Markakis to left, promote Acuna, go shopping for left fielder when Markakis expires.
