You gotta figure snit knows more than he's telling. If he says he's encouraged, gotta figure the medical staff thinks Ronald will be ok

Even worse, the leg surgery involves amputation.

Never good to get too excited about these type of things/comments. Yes, walking off on your own power is certainly better than being carted off. However as we all know you can still walk with a torn ACL. Chipper did that in 2010. Hopefully that's not what happened.

I'm not basing optimism on the walking off part. I'm basing on snit saying he was encouraged. I don't think there's anyway snit says he's encouraged unless the medical staff feels good about it. I think snit is encouraged by what he heard from medical staff... there's no way snit doesn't have a decent idea of what's going on. As you can see, I am very skilled at reading between the lines haha

Medical staff should've had a good idea if there was an ACL tear if they did a drawer test on the field.

you should draw hope from the lack of an on-field amputation

Completely understand. I tore my ACL earlier this year and watching Acuña's injury brought back some bad memories, but that test is pretty foolproof for an ACL tear at least. An MRI was pretty much only used for me to confirm what the doctor's already knew.

This guy is good at breaking down injuries based on video. He’s my go-to football guy. His read on the Acuña injury is not good. https://twitter.com/profootballdoc/s...122840065?s=21

If Acuna didn't tear anything it's only due to him being 20 years old and still, as my wife said, bouncy.

Man idk, I'm not a doctor but I don't know. Seems a bit dramatic. It's either a hyperextended knee or an ACL.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

So you don't know, are not a doctor, but the actual doctor is being dramatic? Then you provide a diagnosis. Makes total sense.

I think saying Acuna not being ready for 2019 would be a bit dramatic. ACL is 6-9 months.
