Here's one assessment of antifa that I think provides an accurate summary of what they are about.

The article has a link to another article, "The Rise of the Violent Left", which is also worth reading.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."

"But for all of antifa’s supposed anti-authoritarianism, there’s something fundamentally authoritarian about its claim that its activists—who no one elected—can decide whose views are too odious to be publicly expressed."

loudest =/= majority
First it's the slave owners. Eventually they will come for things honoring a person who was against abortion or gay marriage. Just a matter of time before some Asian sjw claims something honoring FDR is oppressing them because of Japanese internment. Slippery slope.
"Donald Trump will serve a second term as president of the United States.
It’s over."

I really don't see how anyone who is against all symbols of the confederacy could also support any monument to FDR...
but you know... double standards and all

Is "the left" mockable snowflakes that need safe places or antifa ?
The only language Farkus understood was Ralphie bloodying his nose
Witness the whining about how the opponents of the bigots fought back
Is it safe to assume :the left: has learned candlelight vigil's run by clergy get no respect from Nazi's ? And non violent protest os a relic of a bygone era
What a difference 6 months make

Allowing Nazi sympathizers and White Supremacists to march unopposed is anathema to many. So is countering violence with violence. Therein lies the angst of our current national conundrum: Either way, it breeds contempt and feels like a lose-lose situation. This is where compassionate leadership needs to take a prominent role. Unfortunately, it is in short supply in America today.

Perhaps antifa has grown in a vacuum?

On this day in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson notifies Alabama's Governor George Wallace that he will use federal authority to call up the Alabama National Guard in order to supervise a planned civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery.

The fact that 57 et al doesn't condemn antifa is just as disturbing as the supposed people on the right "defending nazis" (with not a single example of that happening, by the way)
except antifa is not calling for the extermination of Jews,Blacks ,Catholics etc/
Just want to tear down some erections of some lost cause or other
You can't or won't make that distinction
I don't like the fact they get violent however I don't like the idea of Cornell West getting his head bashed in either.
The goal of Dylan Roof was and he said this, to start the race war.
Please read above where yes MLK lead a non violent movement -- but also read when things got dicey - the National Guard was called in to protect those non violent protesters.
Do you think for one moment Trump would have mobilized the NG had things gotten more out of hand last week ?
You know that and keep typing nonsense for the sake of arguing.
I hope the credit I just gave you isn't for naught
