Most catholics are hardly far right. There are some for sure, but compared to many of the Southern protestant denominations the Catholic church looks hyper liberal. Don't get me wrong, many of their beliefs are still archaic and need to change, but they're willing to make those changes, and we've seen it start with Francis and I think it will get more and more progressive when the old heads (aka the ones who stil lwant mass said in Latin) die out and a newer generation who's more tolerant comes to power.

i hear way too often from God fearing people say we should have laws that cut hands off thieves and support the death penalty and the like that puts them closer to the muslims they hate than they are willing to admit

Death penalty is more societal than religious, though people justify it with religious examples all too often.

Well since you remain embarrassed of naming your religion/worldview, I won't hazard a guess. But it is one that has a low view of human government, and a high view of individual autonomy and license.

ah, trying the shame route as well. cool

i am fine with humans in the gov't. just don't pass your religion in the gov't on to others. it's really simple

you are trying to make it more difficult by saying everything is a religion in gov't

over turning laws that endorse a religion or that religions views isn't forcing values on someone

as much as you want to try to make it the same, it just isn't.

Such a lack of self-awareness. Really fascinating. Again, if it works for you, knock yourself out.
