I'm still a believer in Blair.

He can't go from absolute dominance in the minors to this overnight. I think he will still make the majors in some form. Maybe a journeyman 5th starter or long man.

I believe in Blair as well, but he never "absolutely dominated" the minors.... he was just solid. He's never posted great ratios.

On base four times. Despite his recent rough stretch, he's reached a level of pretty much league average in hitting, in a league where he's the youngest player. I am hoping he'll get hot and hit like he did in AA last year. Unless the unthinkable happens and the Braves are in a playoff race after call ups are available, I hope he finishes the year in AAA, and posts full season stats that are excellent.

He just had an RBI single, so it's now 3-3 and he reaches base in all five PAs.

He had one great start in AAA last year. Which seems to have unduly affected some people. Maybe unduly affected the FO since he was called up shortly thereafter.

Hopefully he goes on a tear so we can promote him when we dump Phillips later this year

That'd be great. Hopefully Swanson will have himself fixed and back in the 2-hole. Really wanna see Albies and Swanson playing well in Atlanta this August/September

The plan to have Albies and Swanson play together a lot got short-circuited last year. Maybe Albies can be called up soon so they can get used to each other by the time the team contends.

Nice couple of games in a row by Albies. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Didn't we sign both Albies and Acuna from the 2014 International signing class for a small bonus, around a measly $100k? I don't think either were on anyone's list of top international signees that year, as evidenced by their small bonuses, yet they could end up as two of the top three or five guys from that class. It goes to show that projecting the future for kids who are 16 and not finished with puberty is a much more inexact science than the amateur MLB draft where most kids are almost 18 years old or older.

Hopefully we can unearth at least one guy like that each of these next two years when we aren't allowed to sign anyone for more than $300k. We do have our full international signing pool so hopefully we sign the best 15 to 20 guys who are willing to sign for $300k. :)

My recollection is Albies got 350K and Acuna 100K. Albies was one class ahead of Acuna.

Thanks, wasn't sure. So Albies was semi well regarded. Looks like we unearthed two treasures in both 2013 and 2014, outperforming many guys who signed for millions those years.

That 2013 class was loaded, though: Eloy Jimenez, Gleyber Torres, Rafael Devers,Victor Robles, Sandy Alcantara. According to one list I found, Albies was the 44th ranked international prospect that signing class.

The 2014 class appears to not have been as good: Anderson Espinoza,Franklin Perez...can't think of anyone else. Who am I missing? Was that really it so far? I know the Yankees went nuts that year, spending over $30 million on bonuses but so far that entire class hasn't done much of anything for them. Acuna might end up the best international signee from 2014.
