This is great! They have more extra base hits in 4 at-bats back-to-back than us all year.

I watched about 5 mins of tonight's game... Terrible. I turned it bc I don't want to ruin the high of state winning at lsu. Think I'm just gonna watch wisler, Teheran, and Blair starts till some young position players come up

Probably where Sims didn't have too much rest, he'd had two extra days rest otherwise. Plus gives Folty an extra day rest too.

Frustrates me as much as anyone not named Aaron Blair, but if you've made it this long, there's very little reason to call him up before June IMO.

I agree, esp. with our bad infield defense and Blair being a ground ball pitcher. However, I am as high as anyone on Blair so I could see him shining straight away anyway. It's because I am so high on him that I'd wait a little longer cutting off super two. If I wasn't I'd not care one way or another.

That said, I hope he does great and gets his first MLB win tomorrow. If so he'll get his first W with us before Miller does with Arizona.

Yep, pretty dumb move for a team with payroll constraints.

I get the outrage, I think. I just don't see the big fuss about him being a Super 2. As much as I care about the payroll in 2018, I care that much more about having a reason to be excited about a Sunday in April in a season we might lose 100 games.

This is exactly the reason rebuilds fail IMO - lack of discipline.

Don't misunderstand - I'm as excited about getting to see Blair this afternoon as ANYONE. No doubt. I'm also dying to see Albies, Swanson, and everyone else. You simply have to be patient with these kids (and I'm as guilty as everyone else when it comes to screaming for them to be promoted).

2016 is a lost season, and everyone (including the brass) needs to come to terms with that fact. EVERY roster move, promotion, etc. NEEDS to be made with 2017 in mind. Folty's already on the 40-Man Roster. So is Gant. As are Jenkins and Williams Perez. Calling Blair up today instead of having one of those guys take this start is just about as shortsighted as it gets.

And if we buy out his arbitration eligible years with guaranteed money then this conversation is for naught.

This thing is those years will still cost more if he is a super 2. Make no doubt that he and his agent will ask for more because of this.

Not to mention he will likely get traded as well after 3-4 years.

This isn't an argument that I can out logic you guys. You have the higher ground from a management's perspective. I'm just telling you that as a fan it is a non-issue with me.
