I'd gulp and trade Muller for Asdrubal Cabrera (with the Mets picking up some of his remaining salary) if it came down to it. I'd try hard to avoid it by exploring other options. But Muller is the best of our prospects that I would give up for a rental. And that rental would not be a starting pitcher for me.

Watching the Dodgers today, I'm going to be pretty irrationally angry if the Braves can't at least split this weekend series. I thought I wasn't going to watch this game but I did and I regret it.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
One thing that I think this trade deadline will show is how much other teams value our good but not great prospects. I consider Muller to be the best from that group. Guys like Tucker Davidson, Cumberland, Jackson, Encarnacion, Isranel Wilson, Sanchez, Tarnok, Ynoa, de la Cruz, etc... I have a feeling at least a few of those guys are going to be moving. I'm just interested to see what the return is for them.

Yeah. For me Muller is the best of the group I'm willing to trade from this year for a rental. For a non-rental I'd be willing to consider trading Wentz.
The off-limits guys: Gohara, Soroka, Pache, Touki, Wilson, Wright, Allard, Riley, Fried, Waters, Contreras. Fried being a recent addition to the off-limits group.

Seems like Oh and Happ have been traded by Toronto but in different deals.
Dbacks get reliever Matt Andriese from Tampa.
LA is going to be due some wins now after playing like garbage in philly.

Strasburg to the DL. RUH ROH.

I've always thought Strasburg to be this era's Bert Blyleven; awesome--electric--stuff with a flake mentality. Some physical issues for Strasburg, but when combined with a seeming lack of mental toughness, he always seems to be on the precipice of disaster. Nats still owe him about $140 million through 2023 season. Being in the nation's capital, maybe the Nats can get an amendment attached to the Ag bill or get an Executive Order fashioned to bail out onerous contracts.
