Stroman FA in 1.5 years, Thor in 2.5 years, Matz in 2.5 years, Wheeler FA to be. But they do have some good positional players in JD Davis, Conforto, Alonso, McNeil, Rosario, among others.
Which is another reason they have to go all in now.

Rosario isn't looking like he will be a star.

Their farm system is currently in the lower half of the league as well. So realistically speaking, this year and the next couple could be it.
Hence why a rebuild doesn't make sense for them.

McNeil and Alonso are a little old, but not in terms of service time.

I know. The key sentence there was about them not being young enough to rebuild around for a few years. They have to go all in now.

Yep. But you also have to think about them exiting their prime if you considered a rebuild.

Go nuts all-in in 2019 and 2020, then trade those position players before 2021 for a kickstart on a rebuild?

I just don't see it after the Mets opted not to trade him, which I think virtually ensures a QO.

They're certainly in an interesting spot. Farm is too bad to really blow it up, but idk how all in they should go this winter.

They do have some good pieces but alot of them will be FA's or soon to be really soon.

That's probably what I would be thinking given their current roster construction. Go nuts in 2020, but stay open to the possibility of rebuilding in the 2020/21 offseason.
